http://wardackerman.com/ Sadly its a little short on design work since my main focus for the last bit has been short film, but they've already seen this before calling for the interview so I'm hopeful. I've been working on some new design oriented stuff lately cause where I am theres alot more design work than film :P
Speaking of design I've got an interview Monday with a local Graphics Design company Any advice/tips?
Be confident, be friendly, be yourself.
Remember that there are probably several people who can competently do the job they're hiring for and they'll pick the one they get along with the best.
Design studios are usually full of weird, fun, creative people and they'll want someone who will be similar.
Hey all, does anybody have recommendations for good design magazines? I'm looking at picking up a few subscriptions of magazines (physical ones) to have around the office for inspiration or whatever. Our main focus is on UI and UX, but anything with good design in it (industrial, packaging, print) can be of interest as well. Thanks.
You are the biggest whore of the internet I have ever met, Dan.
I don't know if that's a compliment or not
I'm not sure either, to be honest.
Your obsession/love with all things digitally new and internet related is staggering. You hock more products and services than anyone I know, most of them you yourself have no need for.
I liken it to a gay guy trying to sell me the newest vagina on the market. Sure, it's great and it's full of fun new features, but I'm always curious what you get out of it.

...hell, the other day you wanted to start an SE++ business just to mess around with new software for ecommerce.
Boy, you need to try and make this kind of shit your job. Perhaps "professional shill" is a thing.
You, sir, are the internet's weirdest little pimp.
And I guess I'm excited to see the value in those sorts of new services and products, even if they aren't necessary to me personally right now. I see their potential.
And yes, if there is a job like that, sign me the fuck up.
I'm convinced you have the skills to be a great vag salesman if given the chance.
As for the other thing? I don't know, man, but clearly it gives you some kind of hard-on so many it's time to explore options that lie within that career path. Cnet? Consumer reports? Reporter for something like Wired, or Ars, etc...?

It started in Sydney but I think they have an office and gallery in LA now? It's about skating and surfing and music and art and photography but it's so staggeringly beautifully designed

Were you set up with one for the PEIX's prototyping?
Or was there a simpler form of production for it.
Virgil - I did initial prototypes on our in-house 3d printers, but my final model was produced through Shapeways.com.

they're planning a feature where you order physical prints based on the ones you design in the app.
So that I can one day buy it
The $10 is basically pre-paying for the app if it's made.
And you don't lose any money if it doesn't get enough funding.
Kickstarter is super neat.
Hi5 guys.
I studied ID for three years, and seriously miss having access to a model shop.
I don't know if that's a compliment or not
well it's certainly an achievement
I'm not sure either, to be honest.
