this took way too long than originally intended, i tweaked contrast/colors quite a bit after i was done, kind of my first time doing that in a big way.
some crits on the lighting/colors would be great, im sure theres a lot there that is wrong. also considering blue environment doesn't really matter the light is just white.
Doodled this little number as a result of a twitter exchange I had with KC Green. I thought I was being clever by suggesting he do a comic about a guy called Herbert the Pervert, but it somehow escaped me that the pedophile guy from family guy's name is Herbert. So I improvised.
this one got kind of weird because it was supposed to be a girl, but it didn't look right so I made it a guy and now it's just weird
That's because you're going straight for style without considering any kind of foundation. Learn thee some proportions and stuff'll improve dramatically.
Yeah, it does. I'm actually thinking of dropping them as a commission option because between Helms and Scott C it all feels very derivative. They're fun, but I'm afraid of coming off as being "me too", and feel kind of dirty accepting money for them.
Augh no it's fine! I understand it was an innocent observation/compliment, and thank you. It's just also something that's been bugging me ever since I got talked into doing them again. I'm just really uncomfortable with the feeling that I'm aping a style or a concept that someone else worked so hard to hone and produce, and it makes me constantly paranoid that others are going to perceive me as a purveyor of cheap knock-offs.
sketch of the main character for a story I'm working on (tentatively titled "Unmasked")... I can only write for so long before I wanna start doodling :P
I put this in my thread, but i don't seem to garner a lot of crits there these days and would really like some feedback on this. What works, what doesn't, you know, crits...
I'm painting this at the moment? It's like 9 metres tall or something. The figure is kind of to scale, I think. Or maybe its a bit small. I don't know. ITS PRETTY BIG.

Working on a painting for a charity thing, and it's a post apocalyptic theme, so I'm doing a Beatles "Abbey Road" kind of thing with four survivors walking.
This is just a quick 5-10 minute workup of one of the characters.

Going to see if I can do a sketch a day, starting this week.
Here's today's, I'm trying to keep them under 10 minutes, but in a few weeks I'm hoping to start posting more color sketches around a half hour each.
Basically I'm taking the advice from my comic thread to start posting more doodles and non comic related stuff.

Helpful suggestions would be great!
I remember another game from my childhood, Wipeout 3, I've played it so much! I'll try to do a fan art someday.
