My racistShep sure as hell did not sleep with any aliens. Stop trying to impose your reality on me, PSM (also nice job white text on white background gg). Plus I'm not sure I'd call Ashley "sexually aggressive." That makes her sound like a rapist.
Man, why is Ashley/Kaiden a Spectre now? I didn't think either of them were supposed to be particularly exceptional combat-wise; they stood out in ME1 because of their relationship to the story, not their exceptional skill. Their only solo assignment in ME2 was a colossal failure, where they lost everyone under their charge because they forgot to turn the guns on.
For as big a deal as it was supposed to be for Shepard to make Spectre, handing it to them seems kind of... cheap.
? I didn't think either of them were supposed to be particularly exceptional combat-wise...
I thought both were, they just had reasons for being held back from promotion. Ash because of her family's history, Kaidan because of something that I never bothered to remember because he is so dull, damn it.
everybody's all "fuck yes, SWAT turns!" and I'm all "YES!"
...
"HUH?"
a swat turn is when you go from one spot of cover to another with a turn, if youve played gears of war its the bit where you are behind cover on one side of the doorway then jump across to the other side in a "turn".
.. i wont lie i did just use to google to find this out.

Was she? She was a grunt stationed on an out-of-the way colony. I remember her saying she had problems with promotions because of her family past, but I honestly can't think of anything from either game that would support her as a spectre candidate.
Ditto on Kaiden. I'm sure he was great and all, but I couldn't talk to him without falling asleep. Maybe that's why he made spectre? Intergalactic Snorlax?

Well, if the survivor went with Kirrahe and he survived, then they managed to roll with one of the top STG agents and hold their own. Kirrahe died?
They took command of one of the best STG units, in the middle of a massive FUBAR, and came out alive, mission accomplished.
And then there's any other missions you took them on. It's not a bad record.
And Ash was the sole surviving marine after a Geth attack. Similar incident (Well, a more badass similar incident, but still) got Shep the job.

doesn't seem all that useful in ME unless they suddenly put a lot more cover walls right next to each other instead of staggered like they usually are

They survived Eden Prime too don't forget. That was the biggest Systems Alliance military engagement since the First Contact War. In the ME2 teaser trailer it's even listed as a liberation campaign.

I'm still sad that you didn't get to respond to his email about how you're a terrible person for working with Cerberus. Even if only to agree with him

Jack had tits
do you need further explanation
Jack barely had tits and she had more issues than playboy, she was up there with grunt for least favorite ME 2 character.
Jacob was a well adjusted soldier, it was nice to have a character not fucking insane on the ship. If that's boring I like boring.

So
Another reason Ash is the right choice!
Kinda figured this was coming. Still, nice to have it confirmed.
Why I fear the ocean.

SWAT turns are in. I did not know that before. It was worth the read. ;-)

Awesome. If crouch is also in then combat will be a lot more fun.

But what will it be bound to. There's not enough space on the space bar for another action!

it was pretty obvious considering it was basically what the vanguard was without the charge and shotguns
stick button, you know, like in the first game.
I think he looks more like Lou Diamond Phillips.

Nah, he looks like Carth.
Yep, this is the ME thread I know and love... and are horrified by, on a constant basis.
You're busting my quad, man. You're busting my quad.
