I like consoles and PCs both and I spent basically all of 1992-2003 playing exclusively on a computer. I missed out on the PS1, the PS2, the Dreamcast, the N64, and most of the Gamecube - but I've never known console players to nurse a creepy grudge against computer gamers nearly like the other way around.
Every time there's a problem with a PC game it's because it was omgwtfdumbed down for console kiddies. When a game built by people with PC sensibilities, like Alpha Protocol, comes out on console, people might have their issues with it but you never hear anyone bitch that they made it unnecessarily obtuse for PC gamers.
Well not seriously anyway. Hell Brink was said to play better on the PC over the console, I got it on the console and had turned it in in less than a week (something uniquely console). Nothing to do with console vs pc, more like boring multiplayer game vs more important things to do with my time.
Sadly I traded it in for La Noire and what a dumb move that was.

I feel like console gaming has kind of left me behind. The past four years, I haven't really paid much attention to gaming. My internal standard for judging good graphics is stuck in the PS2 era.
I have a PS3 now. I should try to find games I like.
Man, the past few years have been a renaissance for gaming. Like, I think since about 2007 or so games have really made huge leaps and bounds in terms of overall quality and competence and the level of storytelling involved.
If you've got a PS3, any of the following are worthwhile pickups:
Uncharted 1 & 2
Infamous
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Alpha Protocol
Assassin's Creed 1, 2, and Brotherhood (1 is only ok, but 2+ are some of the best games of recent years)
The Orange Box
Valkyria Chronicles
Fallout 3 and New Vegas
Borderlands
GTAIV
Red Dead Redemption
LA Noire (yes preacher :P )
Mass Effect 2
Dragon Age 1, Awakenings, and 2
Saints Row 2
Dead Space 1 and 2
Prince of Persia
Splinter Cell Conviction
If you liked the first two God of Wars, get God of War 3.

I was the opposite, I did most of my gaming for that time period on consoles, and then learned to build computers and now I play both depending on the game and general availability.
I get most games on PC almost purely because A: I'm usually at my computer anyway, and B: fucking steam sales jesus christ I spend all the money on steam sales.
Usually if I get something on console these days, it's an exclusive, or the type of game makes me want to play it on a console.
I think its a lot of PC gamers who grew up playing in the 1992-2000ish range have a lot of nostalgia glasses on for gaming. Complicated wasn't always good. Sometimes though it did help with the game. With the drop in companies focusing on pc games, pc gamers feel neglected. And like most internet nerds, when ignored that must mean you aren't complaining loud enough.
My iniquities have gotten me banned from the Deus Ex thread.
Crime does not pay.
that whole thread was like the forum equivalent of "ask him if he's a cop. they have to tell you if they're a cop."
I only saw the new OP, but I can't imagine how stupid you'd have to be on this board to talk about pirated things.
Oh and you'll love this jacob that guy I told you about in the DS 3 thread claimed he was a belgian reviewer with a review copy of the game. They must make reviewers in belgium extra stupid if they can't get past the first boss of the game and have to ask people on a forum when a game isn't in full release for tips.

This is pretty much exactly me except for the building PCs part. I am too lazy for that. Instead I buy and upgrade as necessary.
Oh yeah, I tend to be on my computer more often than my consoles anyways so I get a lot of games for it. I have spent about 6 hours this week playing Dawn of War: Dark Crusade rampaging as orks. I do play a lot of older games on my computer.

I'll admit, I was kind of dancing around the whole rules issue.
I still don't feel as though it was morally wrong, but I have to acknowledge it was pretty flagrantly rule breaking to talk about it.
I think it could have gone a whole lot better if it had at any time occurred to any one of the twenty or thirty people in that thread to PM a mod about it and explain the situation
instead it was a whole thread of people pretending to be clever
which is weird, considering the SA forums and the EIDOS official forums pretty much okayed people talking about the leaked preview
I mean, I honestly believe that EIDOS would've gone to greater lengths to prevent that leak from happening if they really didn't want it to happen. I'm not saying this was some covert advertising or something, but clearly they just don't care.
I can also see why our mods wouldn't want us talking about it, though.

How did that work out for them? Being clever? Oh they got banned from talking about the game at all? Well then I guess we know.

Thanks for the list Kosh. Like, Irealize that holy shit, games have gotten a lot better, because when I do make time to play a game, I'm almost always impressed. (Like I played Left 4 Dead 2 for the first time the other night and loved it.) I just have too crippling an internet addiction.

well they did care, but after it happened, people were emailing them with "I love this" over and over again.
they actually responded to a few peoples emails like, "any suggestions?"

a lot more novel than the rest of the games rockstar has touched, probably because it's not them who actually made it
but still pretty disappointing

Did everyone forget that Red Dead Redemption was a rockstar game? I mean its way better than LA Noire by about a billion times.

LoL was such an easy game to play
Now someone's saying that my voice sounds gay
Oh I believe

i got it on sale on steam, SR2 i think, and the animations were so bad i couldn't play the game
i got a lot farther into red dead than LA noire before getting bored though
