Man, you think he'd have strong wrists from all that cab driver punching last year.
News o' the day:
Canucks may be hiring MacTavish to coach their AHL team in Chicago. Presumably, this should motivate AV to stay on his game or there's a ready made replacement waiting on the farm.
Yashin might be coming back to the NHL. Hilarity to ensure, no doubt. Guessing one of the team's needing to hit the floor picks him up. I give this the hyper bee smiley of the day award :bz
Steven Stamkos just got paid. $7.5 million cap hit for 5 years. How refreshing, an actual contract without the 5 years at 1 million each padding at the end of it.

I'm super glad that got taken care of, and for less than I figured it was going to be. Lightning also supposedly inked a deal with Teddy Purcell @ 2.3 mill for two years which should, I imagine, mostly lock up the roster.
It was a hearing successfully avoided by the player and his team, as Purcell agreed to a 2-year, $4.725 million deal (via Nick Kypreos) — a hefty raise from the $750,000 he made last season.
I don't dislike it at all. The font for JETS in the lower right is a little...off, but otherwise if they weren't going to go classic I think this is good.
I REALLY like the logo on the left. The top right reminds me a lot of the Caps, though it is distinct. I'm with steve though that the font for the lower right logo is . . . odd. The jerseys themselves should be really interesting I think.
I really should add Down Goes Brown to my bookmarks.
This bit, in particular, from a July 12th post had me laughing out loud at work during lunch break.
J.S. Giguere, Colorado
The good: Along with Semyon Varlamov, is expected to provide a huge upgrade to the Avalanche's goaltending situation.
The bad: Given that they finished the season starting a former Ottawa Senator third-stringer, the same could be said for any form of solid or liquid matter as well as some gasses.
Worth noting: After spending the last two years with the Maple Leafs, will do a great job of mentoring his new Avalanche teammates on how to finish last while knowing that a Stanley Cup contender owns your first round draft pick.

This is the best hockey-rock and roll cross over since Gilbert Brule picking up Bono hitch-hiking in North Vancouver last month.

Aw. It was time, but sad to see him go. Always (well, spring of 1994 excepted) loved him.

In before the myriad of assured hate.
Did they show jerseys, too?
I think it is the width of the J and the width of the connection from the J to the e that looks off to me.
I like the other two though.

I love the Jets logo.
Well, it is quite literally the Royal Canadian Air Force crest with a Hornet superimposed.
