Maybe ME3's big reveal is that the Reapers are the good guys??

  • SoundsPlushSoundsPlush yup, back. Registered User regular
ME3 to feature Shepard and her crew of brave serfs.

As for vanguards, if anything they've earned their title in ME2 since they're actually vanguarding, what with their whole class strategy being to be at the forefront of the battle. And I'm not saying that singularity vanguard using adrenaline rush and lift to make a dense ball of enemies and then carnage them, rinse repeat, wasn't awesome, but ME1 biotics will always be about the adept to me rather than hybridization.

That enemy video: ugh 4 monthsss.

I really enjoyed ME1 vanguard because, with ultra-barrier, I was an implacable wall of death, slowly, unshakably advancing on my enemies, spraying shotgun.

I really enjoyed ME2 vangaurd because, with ultra-charge, I was a lightning-fast murdertrain, slamming about the battlefield at maximum speed, spraying shotgun and elbows.

I think biotic abilities like pull, shockwave, and throw will be more useful in three for no other reason than yanking off shields or dealing with the dumber indoctrinated.

Some pictures someone on the official forums took from the pulse episode.

The creature on the left monitor looks very similar to one of these

Which popped up a few times in the background during ME2. The wiki article (http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Harvester) also says they were intended to be enemies in ME1 and 2 but had to be cut so it would make sense to finally get them into the third game.

I figured, I remember they said there would be Asari husks, the mouth portion does remind me of the turien mouth though.

So does the latest Bioware Pulse episode have a thing on armor customization like they said it would?

    EDIT: nnnnnnnope, they didn't

It was just a question answered in the Q&A an episode or two ago, I think. Casey Hudson talked about in vague terms -- it sounds like it's the ME2 system with more components.

    Okay...I have a question.

That human that the Banshee is picking up in that one scene...is that Shepard or an enemy mook?

From all the guns on the person it looks like Shepard...which will be weird having an enemy get up close and personal on you like that.

The Asari would make great villains. Their whole shtick is some kind of mind/emotional control in the physical form of Interstellar Hot Chick that just happens to be for the good of all. Plus all that natural-born Biotic and Asari Commando stuff they have going.

Another thing I noticed...the Harvester monster is listed as being under the "Reaper Faction". Hmmm...interesting.

I bet Asari Headticles are a black market delicacy served at only the most exclusive restaurants, prepared by veteran Krogan chefs.

In ME2, is there really a need for any guns beyond an Assault Rifle and the Mantis? Hell, I've only used a Heavy Weapon once (hello Thresher Maw) outside the tutorial mission.

I can totally see why Soldier is called "easy mode".

The AR is your standard good at everything weapon.

So...really you could play just using that if you really wanted.

When you say "AR" you mean "Mattock" right?

Meh. Mattocks good, but so are a few others. Only one I can say is outright bad is the Avenger.

Best thing about the Mattock is you don't have to compensate for bullet spread. Which is a pretty big thing but doesn't matter with AR popped anyway.

    Dragkonias on

I like the Mattock cause if feels like a real weapon.

I like it enough that I use it even as a vanguard. Hate me if you dare!

Naw. The Mattock has excellent sound design. That's why I like using it overall almost every rifle outside of the Revanent(which also has pretty good sound design).

Most of the other rifles sound "weak" in comparison.

That's why I'm glad Bioware is working with Dice for ME3. They know good sound design.

What is this Dice anyhow? This is the second time I've heard it mentioned this week and I cannot recall ever hearing about it before.

The Viper is actually better for the soldier so you can just keep racking up damage boosted headshots rather than slow-mo reload.

But yeah, there's little need to switch to anything but AR/sniper as a soldier.

I don't know what you mean. Most of the stuff I've heard in a Battlefield game is a lot more fun than the plink plink from a lot of the ME2 weapons.

Bioware said they were taking advice for them on sound design
