Man, I wish I could paint minis. I started once, a long time ago, but then I started getting arm and hand cramps, and backaches, and tight shoulders. Mechanically, it's just not something that is good for me.
But I always look at well painted armies and think about how much I would enjoy it if I made something like that.
Then I remember a weekend spent wracked in pain lying on a couch and go 'some things just aren't meant to be'.
same here, also i can't draw a straightline, with rules taped to a page, so i doubt i could paint them worth a damn.
My arting is okay, at least for a novice. I probably still have that Fantasy Chaos Warrior I did somewhere. But I'm built for big movements and wide gestures. Everything about me is big. I'm just not designed for painting tiny mans.
I think I'm either going to play my Ranger, or my Fighter. But that Warlock and Runepriest sound like so much fun. But no, I'm gonna stick to my choices.

Straightzi, is it like what we tried to do last time?
Also, I may do my character last, just to make sure we have bases covered. Not really a big deal, since I have approximately 10 billion in preparation.

StraightziHere we may reign secure, and in my choice,To reign is worth ambition though in HellRegistered Userregular
Pretty much any "smart" character I build has that
I can't fucking help myself
I was gonna get it for my Eclipse Phase Ego, then I realized you can buy a biomodule for your body that does the exact same thing for 1/40th the price. Plus since storage space is so cheap you could literally record every single sensation you ever have and get your personal AI to tag and file it for you for later perusal at the speed of thought (which, given how many mental enhancements I got with the saved CP, is pretty fucking fast).
i have a photographic memory but the camera is really shitty, so most of it is blurry or just didn't develop, but the parts that came out are clear as day. and there forever.
even if the picture is left out int he sun for a while.
i think it's more i'm just good at relating things to other things, which often leads to my more, non linear thought pattern. because there is no logic behind how i link things. like big holes remind me of the time i lost the face shield of an action figure of mine. why? because there was a dirt pit near by. but on the other end there's big whole and what the hell, now she's talking about action figures?
Finally gettin' a chance to dig into the rules which means I will likely start swapping some skills around so my character can actually do what I think he should be able to do.
First up, need to get some Unarmed skill for keeping people grappled so I can stab em easier. Maybe more Moxie too because being an effective knifestabber means critical hits and high MoSes are your buddies. Maybe a smidgen more infiltration for the surprise rounds. Neurochem mods look nice too but I think careful use of combat drugs would be a wiser investment because if I get in a situation where I am hurting for extra attacks I probably fucked up bad.
At least Rep and the diplomacy skills are straightforward, I just want to make sure if I need to I can surprise-knife a guy unconscious quickly.
I'm gonna say, a Fate-based system is going to take a bit of getting used to coming from something like D&D.
That said, once you get used to how fate points and Aspects work, its absolutely amazing.
Any tips for making interesting encounters? What questions are new players going to need help with?
I've got an idea how Fate points work, though I haven't seen how they move back and forth in play. Aspects are awesome just because they make you describe your character's personality.
So, we've got a bard and a ranger, so far. Anyone else leaning toward a particular class?
maybe a fighter? still gotta read these rules
Let's take Melding awesome test of what class suits you best:
You're traveling alone, you come qacorss a dodgy looking man, he brandishes a knife. What would you perfer to do?
Draw your Katana and sign
Pray to yoru god for the power to stop him
Lightning bolt! Lightning bolt! Lightning bolt!
walka way, then come back and stab him!

Actually, maybe I will take character sheets. You guys can just export them and post them here.
Looks like we may have 5 players now.

If someone else really wants to play, Melding is willing to graciously bow out, I think.
Maybe.

for example. I don't know why it's adding a semicolon in there, don't put one but copy the rest.

If spectating is possible/welcome though, I would like to look into this, just to see how a proper campaign runs.

I liked your layout de?ad

(I stole his layout, too)
Sometimes I think I have that in real life. Although really, Encyclopedic Knowledge from WoD was a more accurate one for me.
Also Shabooty, we might just end up hating each other, should be fun.
He can watch a movie and name the other things every bit character has been in
He memorizes lines for shows by just looking at the page
It is fucking ridiculous
even if the picture is left out int he sun for a while.

This has been a rambling thought by Melding.

I love minis games though
I've never run a game before, but I'm getting tired of grid-based combat and 3.5 in general. Please tell me what to expect.
