story-wise, I really like that the skyview temple is actually, like, a temple, and not a dungeon. Most of the obstacles are either semi-reasonable security measures or a result of centuries of decay, and there's not a big scary monster locked up in the back of it. There's just spiders and goblin squatters.
Got it yesterday for my birthday! My brother couldn't find the bundle but he's a champ so he got me the game and a brand-new Wii Remote +. So it's black instead of golden. This upsets me because I'm constantly staring at my controller as a I play a game.
Have the previous games had destructible shields? I rarely use them so I can't remember. I'm finding that I'm better off just going without rather than dealing with a shield that breaks after 2-3 hits.
Lots of fun so far. I like the Motion+ sword swinging. My biggest frustration is with the Wii's lack of camera control. Having to constantly re-center the camera behind Link.

If you block with a correctly-timed shield bash the sheild takes no damage.

Only insofar as previous games have had wooden shields catch fire and burn away when used to block fire attacks.

Well those wooden shields would burn, and there were always Like-Likes, but yeah, they were always more or less permanent before (except you could never get the Ordon Shield back in TP if you lost it, you could buy another wooden shield with a generic design but never one with goat horns again).
I assume you gotta eventually get a Hylian Shield that just stays with you here. I mean come on.
I have absolutely no idea how the free fall controls work. I'm in.. uh.
Eldin Volcano where you jump down the long fall. There is a chest and a Sky Cube or whatever and I cannot get Link to go anyway but the back(bottom of screen) of that cave while following. No matter where I move or put the god damn Wii remote he ends up falling in the same area.
okay so my hand has been bothering me lately, but I figured since all I needed that for was the nunchuck, I'd be okay to play this! so I bought it, and it turns out that shaking that thing to roll is about the worst thing in the world
I'm seeing a doctor on friday about this shit, there's a not insignificant bump on the back of my left hand and COINCIDENTALLY that is the hand that hurts when I grip something and you know, turn my wrist in any way
and tomorrow at work I get to tighten fittings all day
There's a treasure chest that you have to reverse time to get to, but you can go back to the present once you have access to it.
I was REALLY hoping the game would let me travel to the present, open the chest, then reverse time and open the chest again, but it wasn't having it.
Something I really like about the story is that Zelda's not spending the game locked up in a tower somewhere. she's out adventuring too and she's doing a better job of it than you are!
hit a timezone to make a small area of past, which had some enemies in it. They were really hard so I tried to throw a bomb at them. They freaked out and ran for cover, and crossed the line into the present, where they rotted into skeletons
I just walked into the first dungeon. I really love it so far. Everybody is really expressive. I enjoy dashing up walls more than I should, and falling on my face instead of using the sail is always hilarious.
Zelda is a cocktease and has some sort of pushing people off cliffs fetish.

they re-did the worst part of twilight princess and made it actually fun
http://www.audioentropy.com/
Well the worst part of TP was the part where you have to escort that Zora guy to the town...
I had fun with that :<
I was talking about the sacred tear collecting
now they take away your items and fill the areas with enemies and make it fast-paced and tense

But I still have to finish Arkham City and play Assassin's Creed at some point and jegus fuck I need to do Deus Ex: Human Revolution at some point too
I lost the first boss fight and it dumped me right back at the start of the dungeon with all the enemies respawned
