Oh Star Wars fans. Never change.
Disputes in Star Wars fandom have arisen over the fact that the official Star Wars continuity places the two Ewok Films before Return of the Jedi. Since Wicket is shown to understand what is observed as English-Basic in Ewoks: The Battle for Endor, his inability to speak or even understand Basic to Princess Leia when he runs into her in Return of the Jedi is seen as problematic. According to the official timeline, he would have understood her, despite the fact that he does not appear to.

While fans have speculated about this, one possible explanation was given by the official Star Wars website, which stated that the language Cindel spoke could actually have been a different language than Basic, and it was merely translated to English in the film, for the audience to understand. Thus, Wicket does not understand what Princess Leia is saying when those two meet. Also featured extensively in the films was Ewokese, the language developed by Ben Burtt for the Ewoks. A similar explanation to this was later given by Star Wars prequel trilogy producer, Rick McCallum.

Was considering watching the prequel trilogy before SW:TOR is out, since I've only seen the parts 2-3 one time each. But eh, can't be bothered.

This whole Megaupload song story is just so incredibly bizarre.

TL;DR: Megaupload has some artists (including names like Snoop Dogg, so it's not exactly complete unknowns) make a song about how great Megaupload is.

Universal files a copyright takedown notice, Youtube takes it down.

Universal has zero actual claim to this song and music video. It's an obvious attempt at censorship because they don't like the message in the song.
“Let us be clear: Nothing in our song or the video belongs to Universal Music Group. We have signed agreements with all artists endorsing Megaupload,” Megaupload CEO David Robb told TorrentFreak this morning.

“Efforts to reach out to UMG and open a dialog about this abuse of the DMCA process were answered with unfounded and baseless legal threats and demands for an apology.”

    "You sing about filesharing! APOLOGIZE!"

Though I hate the ... over the top sort of stuff in Star Wars (especially when people try to put it into the RP of their characters)

    I just love this clip.

I think we'd all be amazed at how unconcerned the Tory party and their core constituency is with everything else when Europe hoves into view.

Kirk makes a captain's log about the situation, and then McCoy says almost the exact same thing.

So, I'm restarting Skyrim after I played on after encountering bugs and now can't revert back to when the game worked properly.

I suppose I'll go heavy armour and melee this time.

Just replay the first KOTOR, since it's a better Star Wars prequel than any of the three movies.

Once more, I go into the MMO breach. TOR is now preloading. Not much hope of any significant headstart, but ah well.

It is the strangest thing. I don't really understand what's going on and how the record companies have any basis for complaint.

Does he now hate children as much as Picard does?

This is neat, I found a forum community for learning and practicing Chinese.

This is, I think, an ideal way for someone who doesn't have normal access to native speakers.

No children for a reference point.

What an amazing reversal of his age as he is cured. It's so much better that they describe it rather than show it.

If you shut down the transmitter in Derelict Row before you get the chip from the morgue,
Pritchard, Malik, and Sarif all have different things to say which you don't hear if you do those two tasks in the order you're supposed to. These conversations aren't on Youtube, and I'm wondering if I should record them and upload the video, or not bother.

Bioware refuses to tell me how or if I can guarantee being able to play TOR tomorrow, if I preorder. The site just says "up to five days early" and "emails will begin at 7 AM 12/13". But it's $60 and I'm underemployed, so I really shouldn't anyway.

Chances are you won't. It's a tiered release to avoid crushing all their servers and having everyone in newbie areas. It's completely unknown at what rate they're going to release.

I will say, they bought some good servers to download the client. 7.5MB/s is making my computer stutter under the sheer weight of download.
It's a bit wonky that it first downloaded the movie file at lower speed, installed that, and then started the general download though.
