If I could choose to get rid of the nightmares I wouldn't, however shitty they are to make it through at the time they are just so interesting

Marble Hornets is a thing I recommend sitting and watching all in one go
Like, if you dropped it a while ago it helps to have it all straight in your head, it's probably worth rewatching from Entry #1

Although the whole thing is pretty creepy the creepiest point for me was when it walked past the window really early on

What sort of dulled the fear a lot though was seeing the Slenderman prop they use out of context
It's kind of silly when it's not suddenly behind you in a dark forest
Edit: Also make sure you're on the Marble Hornets playlist, not just their channel listing, the totheark videos are sometimes important
Edit2: I just remembered the worst thing about watching them for the first time was how none of the kids' monster rules work
