And this is my St. Andrews Cross, hand finished that. Solid Cherry wood. Over here I have my twin sawhorses. All this leather is hand tooled.

And over here is my Forgotten Realms bookcase. Ohh, and this is where I keep the pony-tail butt-plugs. Real horse hair on that one.

    Check out these dice bags...

Stop making me want to repaint my dudes as Imperial Fists.

Yes I know those aren't Imperial Fists but just looking at space marines reminds me that I want to do that.

I think I have a problem with making enemies start exploding when a battle goes on too long for my tastes.

I guess as far as GM faults go I could have worse ones.

heh, how about enemies exploding as soon as combat begins?

game before last DM used a custom minion that exploded when killed and attacked everything in Burst 5. Did not put "enemies only" on the power, so we killed one minion, and set off a chain reaction that killed most of the remaining minions (which was AWESOME for the warlock because he had one of them cursed, so he kept chaining his curse using his rod's property to spread the curse to all enemies within 5, then taking the boon for his Darkspiral once the curse couldn't spread any further usefully).

I think my warlord and the psion each got hit once, and the fighter, and one of the bad guys got bloodied off of it.

    It was a short encounter.

Any 40k nerds here wanna help me with something? No? Ok!

So I'm gonna be test painting an Imperial Fist and I'm wondering if I should go for a red eagle or a white one? Any time GW paints an Imperial Fist its always got a red one, but I think that might be based on the fact they used red trim on the shoulders and I'm painting a Sternguard so I think I should go with the white, but I'm not sure.

  • Options

I think the red provides a better contrast with yellow

Were you planning to paint the shoulder trim in white?

Shoulder trim and helmet were to be white, yeah.

As much as I hate linking to them, here's a B&C list of the IF colors and insignia

The eagle stays red across all the companies

I think the white helmets might be a bit much, but that's just personal taste

    1. Tell the DM what you want to do

    2. Roll whatever die the DM tells you to roll

    3. Enjoy the DMs description of your character's untimely demise.

It's really not that bad, actually. Although I don't think I've ever actually played 1st edition AD&D. I've played Basic a few times, not sure what edition (didn't actually know there were editions of Basic until wikipedia).

e: Upon rereading, it looks like 2nd edition was both A and B D&D, but Basic had several "versions" (that apparently weren't different editions).

I'm thinking it was either 3rd or 4th version, maybe 5th or 2nd. We were level 5 when we started, and I played a hobbit.

    AD&D is horrifying

there's a real reason they made later versions, and it's not just that they wanted to make money

    THAC0?

    the grappling rules?

    that shit was totally unnecessary

occasionally i look through my old AD&D books

i think the only way i managed to play it as a kid was because we didn't care that we didn't understand the rules

    hm

i should do a let's read of one of those books over on CF again, but i shamefully didn't finish the last one

What's crazy is I always played a cleric in 2nd edition when I first started gaming. Then I started playing 3rd edition, and bailed on spellcasting classes altogether because it was too complicated.

a gesture you have to make to cast it

it's why sorcerers walk around with a rod of Still Spell all the time

does that mean you missed out on 3.5 Clerics?

you sacrifice basically all of your mobility but holy shit are they powerful

not often you get to play a "tank" class that's also a spellcaster and a healer

I did play a Druid, once. And holy shit, I ended up tanking a cryohydra. Granted, I happened to have the right spells trained (resist elements or whatever, plus flame blade).
