I'm totally a johnny. Which is funny because my name is actually Tim.
I would rather have a deck that requires a ton of setup to put things in your graveyard and then all of a sudden MASSIVE DAMAGE of a pretty standard card then to just kill them to death.

my Niv-Mizzet EDH deck is pretty much that
it only really works if I can set up like 7 things and then go near-infinite with Patron of the Moon, Thought Reflection, Mindmoil, Niv, Amulet of Vigor, and Beacon of Tomorrows
draw entire deck, pay 1 to get two more lands in untapped until all lands are out of hand, find a way to get everything else back in the deck, take an extra turn, repeat
I once had an eye of the storm deck that won by thinking twice forever and burning them to death. Except it was way slower and weaker than a straight burn deck.

I'm not sold on that ultimate (works with consume spirit or new mill card, I suppose) but that -3 is awesome. That on top of Vampire Nighthawk, yes please.

That ult is gonna rip people apart when they least expect it. She's amazing.

the new Ajani, everybody
that -3 looks like it could be a pretty rough surprise play, drop Ajani for 3, use it, all of a sudden one of your big things is much, much harder to deal with
I'm pretty down on him. He drops on turn 3 and gets hit in the face by your opponent's 3 drop. If you -3'd him the turn he dropped, he's dead. If you +1'd him, he's down to 2 or 3, tries to +1 again to stay current, and can't do anything to actually protect himself. Good walkers, especially low drop walkers, always have the ability to remove threats to themselves are outpace those threats (c.f. 3 drop Lily, Gideon, Mirrodin Tezzeret). He and Tibalt feel really odd and badly designed to me.

okay so lemme double check my planeswalker mechanics
they count as legendary permanents right?
but not a creature so they have no summoning sickness
you can use one ability per turn like a sorcery (unless otherwise specified I assume)
And the number in the bottom right is essentially their mana pool, and each ability increases or decreases that number but it doesn't matter if that number hits 0 because you can just fill it back up again

1. Correct
2. Correct
3a. Correct
3b. Theoretically correct, but it's never been specified that way.
4. The loyalty number is both their health total and resource pool. They take damage as a player (damage to you can be redirected to them, and they can be attacked), and that damage lowers their loyalty on a 1:1 basis. If it hits 0 they're dead and go to the graveyard.

99% correct. The only thing that needs to be added is that they are special legendary permanents. So if you played Jace 2.0 and your opponent then plays 1.0, both will go to the graveyard because both represent Jace.

okay cool
I haven't actually played magic since before planeswalker cards were introduced and I know somebody explained the rules to me before but I wanted to be sure I still understood it
I included 3B because I've only ever seen the planeswalkers posted in here so I didn't want to assume there hadn't been abilities you could play like an instant

This is strictly speaking more accurate, yea. Technically the 'legendary' part isn't so much the case because planeswalkers have their own special rule in the CR section 704 called the 'planeswalker uniqueness rule'.
The upshot is if two planeswalkers are fully resolved onto the battlefield and they share a subtype, both are removed as a state-based action.

Steam
Timmy - Big powerful spells
Johnny - convoluted, inefficient combos
Spike - Winning
All I care about is the fits of rage I send people into
yeah pretty much
I'm more or less a mix of big flashy things and combos
if I can combo out a big flashy spell that is basically my perfect deck

well if you want rage there is the storied and terrible grindstone + painter's servant combo deck
of course if you want something with more class, you can't go wrong with a mess of traumatizes, sanity grindings, and archive traps (with ghost quarter) in a pretty blue package
Steam

That's a pretty reasonable spot for him, yea.
In other news, my Stuffy Doll->Tainted Strike->Blasphemous Act deck continues apace!

STUFFY DOLL
A long time ago a friend and I were in a sort of stalemate and I used a stuffy doll to kill him 1 hp at a time.
