budget type 2 decks were totally a thing in the not too distant past, and it looks like it will be a thing again in 6ish months when older super expensive shit gets phased out
Man, fuck you Wizards. Half of M13 has been leaked so far, and red has gotten shit from it. 4 drop phoenix without haste? Two firebreathers? A 3 drop Merfolk looter?
Oh, and that legendary goblin you printed? Completely useless in standard unless Goblin Chieftain gets reprinted, in which case great, a 4 drop that's completely dependent upon having a certain 3 drop in play. Even during the months when both M12 and M13 are legal, that won't see play over hellrider.

Without goblin chieftain: Comes in turn 4, doubles turn 5, starts doing damage turn 6+.
With goblin chieftain and 3 other goblins on the field: Turn 4, it creates potentially 10 damage. Hellrider, on the other hand, creates 8 damage that turn, 5 of which can't be blocked. After a wrath effect, Krenko takes 2 turns to do 3 damage. Hellrider can swing in for 4 immediately after a wrath effect.
Vexing devil is lots of fun if you play him turn 3+. Just don't play him turn 1. It's not worth it.
it's a beefed up lightning bolt turn 1, which is pretty damn worth it
A vexing devil turn 1 has no chance of setting up a bloodthirsed berserker turn 2, unlike all of red's other 1 drops. Turn 3+, when you have extra mana floating around, getting 4 damage for R is great (especially if you follow it with brimstone volley), but turn 1 you really want to play something that will ping turn 2.

Also, I know there have been cards that do that, but I like it whenever it's brought up. It makes sense that blockers see your guys coming and their commander arrays them appropriately, but...well, let's just say one of my favorite fictional characters is Thrawn.

I like avacyn's symbol on Odric's sword, it's a nice touch. Kinda want to try a Boros humans deck with him, t1 champion of the parish, t2 lightning mauler, t3 riot ringleader?, t4 odric paired with mauler
