One of my concerns as a Vanguard player is that shotguns and the strong melee attack seem to overlap somewhat. To what extent is it possible to replace your shotgun with melee and instead pack a pistol or something?
Totally viable. Being able to charge a bit faster for your shield recharge is very nice.

Player is horrible, can't aim, needs to read all descriptions of every skill cause he has never in his life played a Mass Effect game.
Doesn't know how to revive his squadmates even when the game tells him how to in huge text in the middle of screen.
Yep, early copies sure go to the right people every time!
God damnit, mechs! I got past the Pyros and managed to down a few guys, until the god damn mech flanked me. So close. I'm am going to get this fucking achievement.

Given what they've shown us in the trailers, I have no worries about the endings. They'd have to fuck it up on the order of KOTOR 2's ending for me to be annoyed, and I just don't see that happening.

I've been pretty much turned-off of this game by pretty much everything Bioware has revealed about it, but I think the endings sound fine. And they don't really surprise me considering

from what i've gathered from the ending, it fits with the THIS IS SPACE OPERA ON A GIANT SCALE feel that the series has maintained all along. i'm not expecting a giant logical gap between what they've telegraphed and what we'll get.
