So guys, I'm thinking about playing some WoW again... If I were to make a new character, is there any particular class that Shambler's has too many of/needs more of? Just wondering.

Yep! Remember the crowd of like 20 people we had murdering that thing to get its health down for the tame?
It wasn't even that that did it. It was the dummies that went in and got killed in one hit since that's how you get his health down. I guess you're supposed to sacrifice and resummon your pet a bunch to do it for real.

Yeah, that's the way I did it myself like a month later.
It is terrifying watching that thing get closer as you stand still to revive your pet.

So, here's something neat.
Crusader Strike, Exorcism and Judgement all generate holy power for ret paladins in the beta.
The Tier 13 two piece bonus stacks with the effect of Judgement. It's just all, CS, Judge, TV. Even the proc rate on Art of War feels a bit higher.
I found myself going through my normal rotation only to notice that I have 3 holy power, and so I TV and find I had at least two more holy power stored away.
This is, nice. It kinda makes up for the absolutely "meh" talents.

garrosh got some good development in cataclysm, even if they apparently are going to throw it all in the trash and corrupt him because they apparently they suck

Man. I used to like Warcraft's lore. Warcraft 2, with Khadgar and friends? That was good stuff. Very barebones, but good. Even Warcraft 3 had some neat things despite not being a very fun game for me and the herald of warcraft's decline.
Now Khadgar, the coolest mage since Medivh, is regulated to standing Shattrath for all time doing buttkiss nothing while some punk ass wish fullfillment orc/draenei/human punk takes the cool title.
also: I suspect finding competent writers to write your tie-in novels and comics is actually pretty difficult, especially since I'm assuming they don't actually have a lot of control over the events of what they're writing

There are plenty of them around. Remember this guy out in Nagrand?
Half-orc, half-draenei. Garona's also half-orc, half-draenei, but nobody wanted to spend the time making unique models for half-breeds so they just use the orc models in-game. There's also a half-human, half-elf out in Honor Hold that uses a blood elf model.

granted I don't know how they did with that in diablo 3 but after WoW and Starcraft I'm not exactly filled with hope on that front
