I love Dark Souls. That game has one of the best senses of exploration. It's weird how much of the game sticks in your head, I could easily recreate pretty much the entire game map in my head. Not something I could do for most games
it's because it's a contiguous space - every space is realistically & plausibly connected to the beginning area and you can always return, even to the undead asylum
almost nobody else does that shit. even dear esther is an impossible space
and it's made all the crazier by how batshit the locations are.
like sure, why not have a giant lava city underneath an underground swamp which also contains a hollow tree which leads down to a infinitely big lake

when i played new vegas i installed a mod that gave me INVISIBLE ARMOR that used some unused slot so that i could have decent armor stats and still RP as a wanderer dragging my way across the wasteland in tattered clothes

i just did boone's quest, and killed a shit ton of legion jerks, and i was swimming in caps
and i stole pretty much everything that wasn't obviously owned by anyone
and then i got to the clinic north of "vegas" and bought that subdermal armor
back to that one doctor outfit with the t-shirt, satchel and fatigue pants, with mustache, aviators and rattan hat, of course.
i really want a game that lets you be an archer
i wonder if dragon's dogma will be decent
it's got a really good tutorial, without which i would never have understood fighting games
yeah the teaching bit taught me way more about how to play fighting games than I learned from all other fighting games I've played before combined. Still awful though.
I remember losing about 28 humanity after dying legitimately, and then incredibly fucking stupidly and then I never played it again. This was right after chopping that giant wolf in the testicles for half an hour

I had no idea what was down there, no idea if I was even supposed to go down there
and then when you finally reach the bottom
you are completely flabbergasted
you've gone too far to turn back
