This New Assassin's Creed III Trailer is the Very Definition of a 'Teaser'

I disagree with the notion that corporate people are generally smarter than the internet gives them credit for.

particularly when there's money involved
you have to look at this in the sense that the people above Giant Bomb on the corporate ladder are aware of what happened last time when Jeff got fired and the mass exodus that occurred after that
And the only way for Giant Bomb to be a profitable acquisition for them is if they trend upwards on the views/hits/subscribers scale
So they ask fifteen minutes after the news hits their desk "how many people do we estimate are going to stop visiting the site consistently as a result of Ryan's comment, how many people will stop viewing the site if he's not severely reprimanded, how many people will stop viewing the site if we severely reprimand him"
I wil bet all the dollars that all analysts came back and said "this was an unfortunate slip-up but the repercussions are fifty times worse if we do anything severe to this guy, and he's already apologized"
so nothing happens because although that comment offended one particular demographic, they have been apologized to, and it's actually a better PR move on CBSi's part to not punish Ryan for it in any way more than a slap on the wrist.

Yeah probably so. I think he played Journey once. Jeff stopped halfway through and Ryan encountered a bug, so I'm fairly certain Trials will be da winnah.
people best remember the most recent thing they saw, so i'd count on bioshock 3 or borderlands 2 being the strongest competitors (assuming they're good of course)
I hope there are some shakeups for GOTY like last year, stuff like Uncharted 3 not blowing many minds and actually getting stuff like Saints Row 3 seriously considered
Right now it just looks like Mass Effect 3 vs BioShock Infinite vs. Assassin's Creed 3
Maybe The Last Guardian actually comes out this year! Maybe The Last of Us is actually amazing! Maybe Black Ops 2 is the second coming of CoD4, and the entire multiplayer shooter landscape is changed again!
I hope there are some shakeups for GOTY like last year, stuff like Uncharted 3 not blowing many minds and actually getting stuff like Saints Row 3 seriously considered

Pretty sure ME3 won't be it. Diablo 3 has a strong shot though. AC3 is kind of in a similar situation as Black Ops 2, but with probably higher chances to begin with (in that the GB crew seems to be more into AC in general than Call of Duty).
It'll be Bioshock, Borderlands, Diablo 3 in some order at the top 3 almost definitely. The rest of the top 10 is pretty easy to guess within some margin of error (ME3, AC3, BO2, Journey, Fez, Trials, Far Cry 3). One or two of those 10 might be tagged out for something else that'll either be a surprise or which I'm blanking on right now (or Xenoblade, which would be in my top 10 but probably not in theirs).
