If I do not hit the registered minimum (6, btw) by sunday, this will be closed for this year- The few of you who have registered, Three Rivers will issue a raincheck or a refund at their discretion- I apologize for that.

I and several friends will still be rafting that weekend, and you are welcome to come if you'd like- it just will be less game focused, and more bar-and-whitewater focused.

I will, the second the sale (30-50%) comes available this fall, be booking next years- this will eliminate the whole delay mess. They usually allow gift certificates for those not sure of dates, but I'll just pick one and we'll change it if needed after PAX East- they won't have a problem with that, it's just to get things paid for cheaper

Anyway, thank you for your enthusiasm, and I realize half of the issues was me dragging my feet- that won't happen this fall

Hey, sorry, we were on vacation when you updated with the details. My fiance was waiting to see if this was a go, as it is difficult for him to go through getting days off, so at this point, it is too late for him to get the travel day. I hope you guys have a good time though. I really REALLY want to join in next time, so I'll keep on the lookout for updates.

At this point, we're going to be shelving this for the year. Sometime this fall I will be PMing those who were interested, and updating this post for next year.

IT WILL BE SUDDEN. The Sale is announced, and lasts until it sells out- and its 30%-60% off, usually around 40-50. It happens anywhere from november to december.

People will not be required to sign up then- but it costs a hell of a lot less if you do!

Those of you who signed up already- I will call them shortly and cancel it as a group trip- I will be going up rafting anyway. If you want to come anyway, you're welcome, but if you cancel, Three Rivers will give you a raincheck as long as you do it near immediately- This is important- it must be done as soon as possible, since they held slots on a busy weekend for you, they need to have them back open as soon as possible.

I'll post more and whatnot when I can- but if you booked and want to cancel, do it ASAP. I apologize greatlly for the dragging of the feet, again, and next plan, I will be well ahead of the curve- it'll be scheduled probably before PAX east

I just noticed this post now. I think it's a brilliant idea, and would love to see it attempted again in the future.

I'm just starting to get into whitewater kayaking though, so that would be my interest in future trips.

I just want to remind people- This is going to come up soon in the next couple months. If you have a hundred or so bucks floating per person in your party, it will be a perfect time to book when I post the sale. I am going to literally update this as soon as is feasible (Including at work!) when the sale starts- and it is the best price you will be able to get. We can shift date, yes, and as long as you cancel 30+ days out (IE if we pick a date that doesn't work for you) they will give a raincheck.

Someone said they would like to do whitewater Kayaking- I'm not against this, but for the first trip (Summer 2013) I would really like it to be a basic rafting trip, to ease some into it.

As an FYI, I was burned over 100$ for last year's last minute back outs. I'm okay with this, since I did drag my feet, but I am going to require minimum numbers be met before the 30 day mark- since frankly. I would have used that hundred dollars to go rafting anyway, so I don't care if I just get credit back, I just won't lose money.

For people that are interested, discussion of months can commence.

The sale is expected to occur in late October to Early November- it will almost definitely occur before Thanksgiving, according to my friends at Three Rivers- They can't tell me exact dates though.

This means banking at least 100 bucks a person before Thanksgiving should safely get you Whitewater tickets. If enough people chime in on the thread *starting now* saying they want to do the uber cabin, in the summer, then we can add that to the booking process NOW and save more money, since the sale usually includes lodging! The Uber Cabin is usually $40 a night per person, so on sale, at say, 40% off (average sale discount) it would be 24$ a night instead, and therefore less than a hundred dollars for lodging, even if you stay thurs night thru monday morning (Which is more than required)

IE, sit on 200 if possible and you should be golden when it lights up.

Sale lasts anywhere from a month to three months, based on previous experience- so don't plan on it lasting forever.

I will be making a few phone calls today to make sure I don't book on top of another trip I'm doing, then I'll pick an arbitrary weekend in July for a temporary date. They'll let us move it later, as long as we give them 30 days notice and there's space in the new weekend for us.

Lodging is not on sale this year unfortunately, so only the rafting itself is 40% off.

877-846-7238 is the number to call- if you want to get a jump on it before I get the actual trip # set up, you can just get a gift certificate. Gift certs do have some blackout weekends though, and can't be used for lodging.

I'd suggest a $110 gift cert per person if you go that route- the trip will cost $109.99 so that would cover one trip.

I'm much more confident that this will happen, but if you want to be safe(r) you can just get a gift cert for the amount specified, and then book when we've got solider numbers- that way you can hold on to the certificate if it doesn't for whatever reason, and use it another time.

The 40% sale is going to end soon, and after that it'll be back to full price- it came to about $70 for one person with the sale.

The sale is still on, probably due to poor economic conditions- the sale exists to keep the lights on until the first snow, in which they convert to snowmobiling as a sustaining income.

PLEASE take advantage of it if you're interested in going- you can get gift certs if you aren't sure you can make a vague date, and they don't expire!

In all seriousness, the date will be firmed up shortly after PAX, but if you really REALLY need a date earlier, I can open discussions.

If you are even CONSIDERING going, this is the cheapest it will ever be, at least for the rafting side- even if you get the tickets and don't end up wanting to go this year, they'll still be valid next year, and the sale may include lodging then.

I beg you, if you want to buy, or are on the fence, or might just want to go and haven't decided, at least buy the gift certs.

Oh, and please post in the thread if you did buy gift certs- I'm not told about that, I'm only told if you add on to the trip number.

IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING GOING, AND MIGHT EVER WHITEWATER IN MAINE...

I really really suggest buying the discounted gift Cert, if you can. It doesn't expire, and if you don't go with us for whatever reason, at least you'll be paid up and cool to roll on a different date just for kicks.

It really is quite an amazing trip, regardless of gaming- and if you have grabbed a gift cert, please PM me, so that I can track group size- Min is required to consider the mega cabin, and it will fill without us if we don't decide probably shortly after Pax East.

Bit of info on deadlines

1) I must have enough participants (10) to make this worthwhile by APRIL 10th at this time.
1a) If I do not have enough by April 20th, but I have over 8, it will be moved to Aug 17
2) If we have enough participants by MARCH 20, we can discuss dates. It CAN be moved to manage people's schedules, but I need enough buy-in
3) Buy-in is defined as paying the money to 3-Rivers. I get an email each time someone pays.
4) *If we do not have enough this year, I will not attempt this again for at least 2 years, but if anyone wants to go rafting with people who game, I know many who will go, and I'll fit you into our trips.*
5) These aggressive deadlines are to ensure that I can at least not lose my money again- I lost it last year. I don't know if anyone else did, and if you did I'm sorry- that is why I pushed so hard for gift certs for everyone else this year, because that way the liability is limited to me.

Pax East is over.

No deadlines have been met. However... As of now.. I have no buy-in. *At this moment I will lose $120 dollars if I we do not meet deadline. Ironically, I've raised 120 dollars for Child's Play through old Forum Coins sails this year.*

I will gladly eat this cost if I have to.. but I have it hard to believe. Just three people buy-in would mean that I don't get burned. To be fair, I pay either way. *I literally can not cancel what I paid, though I can move it.(

I really need buy in. As stated above, MARCH 20th has passed. This means that dates will change based specifically on the rules in the previous post. This means that Aug 17th is the current viable date.

If you want to raft with my personal serious crew, who is mostly gamers, feel free to message me. We literally go every year at least once, possibly twice. You'll have fun, and my crew runs are guaranteed. PM me for those trips- they are not public because they have maximums.

IEven worse, I can not book lodging for people unless we reach specific levels. Right now- we're all on our own. If he hit 10+ I can call them , but we might not get them.
