I like skill point and skill tree systems because I enjoy RPG character building and like to feel like my character is different from every other character of the same class, but in practice the D3 skill system (probably) creates better gameplay.

They were an improvement over... what did Diablo 1 have? Hoping you'll find the right spellbooks?

yeah, it was essentially a roguelike.

Your character can still be unique and different, and this is actually more likely in Diablo 3 since you can actually try different things and find something effective that fits you, rather than just picking one flavor and that character being stuck with it forever
Though I suppose inferno could take min maxing but we havent seen all the skills and runes in play and have no idea if that is actually the case

i feel like blizz is way more able now, in 2012, to balance skills to make sure there's viability in choosing different stuff
I said feel like, not actually be. I know there were tons of other meteorb sorcs and skelemancers but coming up with the plan of how to spend those skill points myself was what I liked.

Even with unique builds, 99% of the time every skill got "none, one, or 20" skill points. At that point you might as well get rid of skill points and just either have the skill or not.

we call it Inferno mode
well 9 here
My understanding is that they changed their minds and now HC will be available after 10 in release as well.
Also I just bought this online because buying things you dont need to survive is what a tax return is for
also do we know how much of act 1 was in the beta? presumably the skeleton king is not the act boss?
also if i buy this do i have to buy a separate version for my mac?
Steam
I think buying it online gets you both. Possibly the box version too.
Just looked at my battle.net account. I have a link for a PC and a Mac version.
Steam
aah what do I do what do I do

i made a sorc on useast and am like level 5
Learn sanskrit. Bitches love sanskrit.
(because that's how long 9 days feels right now)
maybe I should get around to pre-ordering it
It is roughly 1/3 of act 1, data mining showed that there were 14 waypoints in act 1 and 6 of them were in the beta.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
This is how i've been killing time waiting for Diablo 3.
Never really played Necro before, so went with Summon Necro.
I've decided it's the lazy mans way to play D2.
it totally is
I really want to see a party of Summon Necro's...
I want this to be a thing, and I want to see the chaos from hordes and hordes of skeletons.
is the beta all over? I have needs
Yup, beta ended may 1st. I only played the open beta but god damn that gave me a craving for D3 that can not be filled.

stat points were terrible
skill points were terrible
