Overwhelmed with having to choose just one friend to spend time with, Pinkie Pie uses a magic mirror to clone herself.
MLP uses three arc plots:
Act 1. Pinky Pie has the issue stated. Makes 5 clones. One for each friend.
Act 2. Decides she wants to spent time with the rest of ponyville as well. Suddenly 100+ clones. Takes over ponyville.
Act 3. Mass song and dance number of smile smile smile with 100+ pinkie pie. Big Macintosh smashes the mirror going on about something to do with how 1984 won't be like 1984. This doesn't really change anything but every pony agrees it made an awesome advertisement campaign for sweet apple Acres.
I'm reading the general freak-out on EQD. The CEO of Hasbro on a confence call confirmed that the MLP program is getting a budget cut. This was to be expected for the magic 65. They forget that even Tiny Toon Adventures got 13 episodes in season 3 and then 20 in season 4....
Tiny Toon Adventures was also canceled becuse the show wound up hitting the wrong demographic and wasn't able to sell ad space for it anymore. So.....yea.
On the upside, I imagine Hasbro isn't as anxious to sell ads when they've got a lucrative merch stream going. I hope. Dare I say it, they could do some sort of kickstarter-like program to keep the show running. Offer merch sets as contributor prizes and I guarantee fans would pony up the cash to keep the show on air, at least for a couple seasons.
If it was changed because of the target audience I would not mind so much. But it was mainly a complaint of the highly critical fans that made the ball start rolling on the change.
It was pretty much the latter. If only RD didn't call her Derpy none if it would have changed.
I doubt they will censor it because the box set dvds are meant for the older fans of the show. Which is why they are putting so much effort in the first one with commentaries from voice actors to writers.

But it seems to have come from an anime.
I often thought of Derpy while watching that video, but didn't think it would work properly with all the baka baka. That said, what's throwing me off is changing the subtitles without any modification to the lyrics. Perhaps having her in something more along these lines, instead.

It's a good thing watching anime has inoculated me against letting fans negatively affect my enjoyment of anything.
The only MLP one I've seen that I liked was the physics one, which kicked off the whole craze.
Yeah I don't think this person is representative of people that enjoy the show, but that video is pure gold.
At least MLP doesn't have a "it's still real to me, dammit!" guy yet.
