I mean I know Law & Order and CSI and shit aren't exactly portraying American law accurately to Americans either

it's just extra funny when things they think they have (Miranda rights, 5th amendment, right to bear arms) are not only misunderstood but do not exist in this country

It's too bad some other country's legal shows aren't prevalent in the U.S.

I think it would be highly entertaining for people being arrested on COPS to be screaming for their solicitor.

    yeah outside of like

    Flashpoint

do Canadian police shows even play in the US?

    we have them

they're mostly on Showcase and the CBC

    but they do exist

i just don't know if they play anywhere but here

I saw a made for TV movie one time that was about Catholic Priest molestation and it was set in Canadia.

There was a courtroom scene, people had wigs on.

    It was not very memorable.

I don't usually turn on my fellow countrymen, but after shopping for a bathing suit, I gotta say... Americans are fucking fatasses.

I'd have to put 20 centimeters on my waist by this weekend to wear the smallest suit I found in the first few rows. Finally I found one that fit me in the child's section. I'm not a big guy, but I'm not that small.

I have this problem with scrubs.

Everything is XXXL or Extra Small. When I find an L or an M it's like finding pirate treasure.

I am an hour ahead of usual due to being in Rwanda, so you've probably got a bit before bed time.

I'm now imagining your avatar with a beige safari hat.

My imagination apparently stopped evolving when I was 6 and watching Bugs Bunny cartoons.

(Why are you in Rwanda?) :)

How is the African continent treating you? I have a friend in Rwanda doing health work this summer if I remember right. Maybe that was Uganda.

My parents live here and Mum offered to pay for me to come out for a few weeks for a holiday/to do proof reading for her/a new space to try and motivate me to write some articles.

I've been about 4 times but this is the first trip in 4 years so it's nice to be back.

Also is it a good or bad thing that when I see a new poll like in the Washington post or on my news ticker the first thing I do is hit intrade and 538 to see if it has changed their predictions at all?

So far, having a good time. It's all pretty sedate as I tend to hang around with my parents and I'm trying to write an article or two. But it's nice and sunny, people are lovely and Mum's work has fast internet and wifi.

Very cool. I need to go to Africa one day. Though with my areas of study it will probably be North Africa like Tunisia, Morocco or Egypt.

I do love Rwanda, but that's mainly 'cos I've learnt just to ignore the things that annoy me. I should probably try and see other parts of the continent, but it's not really doable at the moment.

I loved Courtney Vance on Law and Order Criminal Intent. He is so smooth, and when he plays hardball and becomes threatening or menacing, he never raises his voice or gets preachy like the other L&O DAs, he just gets smoother until he is almost purring. It's super effective.

Find a salesman who plays Warhammer and beat him at a game with a nexus 7 and a PS Vita on the line.

That would require me to actually have a fieldable army

I have 3 whole battalions with like 95% of it still on the sprues, and the army books to go with them.

Hehe, good goals. I also have a Warhammer army somewhere back in the States, and I don't think I ever got rid of it.

    But it's 40k Eldar, and I think they aren't particularly popular. :(

Then I decided to head over to a mall to check out their Boxing Day sales.
