Someone needs to give me some inisstrad commons and uncommons so I can work a deck out for fnm.

I played some sealed with BFL
did selesnya
was a lot of fun, populating all over the place
of course BFL pulled two wayfaring temples, which I wanted desperately
and then I pulled a hypersonic dragon, steam vents, and foil niv-magus elemental
and he was playing izzet
hilarious

What do you need?
I'm looking to make a R/B aggro deck with some burn. I haven't looked into exactly what I need yet, but things like the 2 damage exile for R sorc are one.

So there are a couple of cool decks that emerged over the weekend!
Jund Tokens (Winner SCG Open Providence)
Some kind of deadeye combo deck I haven't seen a good list for (Top 4 Ohio States? Unconfirmed)
These are added to the established UWx Permission, Rakdos Aggro and Jund Midrange decks. Zombies is declining heavily in popularity as the meta settles on Rest in Piece as an essential sideboard/mainboard option against both zombies formulations (BG/BR) and UWx as well (it stops the tamiyo ultimate kill).
GW aggro continues to perform well enough to be listed as a useable archetype but not well enough to be a huge threat. RDW may be rising in power, I've seen a lot of unconfirmed reports of top 10 states finishes and it makes sense with the meta shifting toward very long plays.
I didn't get to States, or even to FNM this week, but I was able to do some playtesting with my Izzet Aggro deck against a good local player running Junk Control. Split with him and I think I would have done even better if I eliminated my mis-plays. So yeah, red aggro strategies have an opening while the other archetypes figure out how to tighten things up, I think.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to giving it a real test on Friday. Next deck I want to build is something around Desecration Demon.
By the end of the month I fully expect Zombies Tribal to be basically dead along with Jund Midrange. BR, RDW and GW will probably be the aggro options, Bant/Tokens for midrange and UWx/Bant/Deadeye thing is for control/"combo".
States (or Provincials, here) was pretty fun. A friend of mine got 2nd place, with two other friends coming very close to Top 8 (one actually in 9th). And I myself was judging the event, which was a nice experience. Now that that's over, we need to focus on an upcoming PTQ. Looks like I'll be doing a lot of sealed on modo.

What were your friends playing, out of curiosity? Or, alternatively, are your top 10 lists anywhere?

Haven't seen the decklists posted anywhere yet. The guy in 2nd place was playing a Bant midrange/control deck with Centaur Healers, Thragtusks, planeswalkers and Sphinx's Revelations. He lost in the finals to a UWR Miracles deck, which actually beat earlier that day. The guy in 9th was playing a Jund Zombies deck, and the other guy who made Top 16 was playing Jund midrange.

Had an awesome mtgo draft tonight. I hadn't booted up mtgo in over a year and a half but I thought I had some tix so I decided to do a RTR swiss. I ended up not only drafting a crazy W/U fliers deck but also cracked a jace that went with it nicely. First two rounds weren't too difficult, but the third was interesting. The 3rd and 4th ranked dudes left so I was facing a 1-1 guy who I think was trying to get me to leave by being inactive for just under ten minutes. We then play it out and each take a game off the other, him running rakdos with packrats that showed up both games. Last game comes up and he stumbled just enough on the mana before getting packrats down that I get him to 5. He swings with a ragemutt but I have a downsize and win.
Now I have to figure out how to flip the jace for more tix to continue drafting, at least the 3 packs I got for winning the swiss can allow me one more draft.

I'm pretty sad that zombies are fading. Played them pre-rotation due to being my favorite tribe, being super good was a nice coincidence.
I've actually been having a lot of fun with jund though, new zombies bored me to tears to play. apparently mortarpod was half the fun for me
Well, I listed a bunch of relatively valuable Standard cards on both eBay and MTGSalvation. I think I'm just going to get out of competitive Magic for a while. I just have no real free time, especially on the weekends when big events are going on. I still want to play EDH and stuff, and maybe draft every once in a while. It's kind of a sad realization for me, but it's just a temporary pause I think.

my box came today. im drafting the boosters with 5 friends tonight. So excited.
I would love to find some good info/resources on what makes a good Golgari deck. I'm getting the hang of Rakdos easily; the synergy makes more sense, but I've tried building like 3 different Golgari decks now and I feel like there just HAS to be more to it than "have a lot of Scavenge." What's weird is I usually main mono-green and I get the element of "get a lot of big creatures and stomp them" but Golgari seems somehow... LESS intuitive.

How to build a good golgari deck:
Build Selesnya or Rakdos. Fill in with scavenge durdles.

The Golgari charm is pretty swell.
As is the skullsnake thing that scavenges for 0.

I don't really get scavenge
this one card I have costs 6 mana to put two +1/+1 counters on a thing
for six mana I could play a creature who doesn't even need +1/+1 tokens to be big
or I could play two common bonds and get 4 +1/+1 counters
I guess it's nice for getting some utility out of dead things?

Not seeing anything readily apparently on the wizards site.
For GPs they usually put up videos after, IIRC.
guttersnipe with cheap flashback effects, however
that's good eatin'
Steam
Pulled 2 (!) Angel of Serenitys
1 G/W shockland and 1 g/b shockland
1 Armada Worm
and 1 Deathrite Shaman
I then traded three Angel of Serenitys for 1 New Jace 2 Mizzium Mortars and a Rancor (to make the value even)
Had somebody want to trade for my Judge Promo Land Tax then try to tell me it was only worth $50. I told him to go fuck himself
All in all a very good day, very fun and holy shit were there so many people there
woo cards
What do you need?
I have two Mizzium Mortars. If you're interested in trading your G/W shock land I might have some uncommons to throw in to make value?

Unfortunately I still need one Pillar of Flame
Anything else I can probably send your way though
Yeah that sounds good, let me see what else I need

I think I need to get my butt down to Card Kingdom and pick up that deck builder's kit.
But, yeah, I went through the 9 boosters that I got out of the box. Kind of exciting.

Anybody seen any good decklist's for that?
it is quite good
It beats the crap out of midrange, which is like 75% of the field now.
going to do exactly this in like a month over Thanksgiving break
really looking forward to it
