    At work they just give me a row of monitors like I'm monitoring the fucking matrix or something

    I mean I know I am monitoring about 300 odd servers, but they have baby monitors to tell me if a bad man is smothering them with a pillow I don't literally need to see them all at once

    Not that I mind too much, it does make my inner geek child thrilled

    I don't know anything about cultivating cannabis. It's literally a weed, right? Like, if you threw it outside in a place that doesn't freeze and walked away, you'd have a pot farm next year.

    yes, but you would get poor quality cannabis with relatively low THC content. It would still be smoke-able, it just wouldn't be competitive with higher-tier indoor-grown product.

    The tech that goes into pot cultivation isn't to get the plant to grow, it's to induce more production of THC and analogous cannabinoids.

    And then there's the issue that uncovered outdoor marijuana plants are visible from the air.
