I am super duper surprised at the way this sequester thing has been rebranded in the last week or two
suddenly it is obamas thing and he is trying to weasel out of it because it is finally gonna get some spending cuts and republican legislators are like whatever
For everyone experiencing frantic stress laughter, Documentary has a thing on Mardi Gras parades and holy shit the system of relays and lookouts required to keep them from being arrested by the cops is fascinating.
aaand absolutely nothing about mental health w/r/t gun ownership
It was stressed in the infographic, but yeah, he shouldn't of summarized it out.
Now I don't want to start a gun control debate, but did anyone ever suggest making it a law to keep your guns locked up in order to lessen the chance of them being stolen?
Because I think that would help kinda.
The argument I always get when I suggest that is that its my house and my guns. If someone breaks in or the government attacks I need to be able to fire right away.
A filibuster is when a politicians donate their speaking time to someone who is reading a phone book or doing some other similarly annoying thing that doesn't technically violate the rules of decorum, per se...
It's basically the American politician's version of a drum circle.

not sure if the dorner thing is being followed here but:
Fugitive ex-cop Christopher Dorner standoff ends, charred body found

but then
No body found in fugitive ex-cop Chris Dorner case: LAPD
Toronto Sun-6 minutes ago
LOS ANGELES - No body has yet been recovered from a burned out cabin in the mountains above Los Angeles following a gun fight between police and a suspect believed to be a fugitive ex-cop, despite news reports To the contrary, a Los Angeles Police spokesman said.
Los Angeles Police Commander Andrew Smith said the cabin in the Big Bear area northeast of Los Angeles was “still too hot” for police to enter.
Several news organizations had reported that a body was found in the cabin and had been identified as likely that of former 33-year-old Los Angeles police officer Christopher Dorner.
Dorner is suspected of a revenge-fueled killing spree targeting police and their families.
California authorities launched a six-day manhunt for Dorner and police believed they had cornered him in the mountain cabin.
Television news footage showed smoke and flames engulfing the cabin in a heavily wooded area of the snow-covered mountains of the San Bernardino National Forest.
San Bernardino County sheriff’s spokeswoman Cindy Bachman said a “smoke bomb” had been set off at the cabin before the fire started, but she was uncertain if it had been detonated by the gunman or law enforcement authorities.
“There is a subject barricaded in the cabin and at this time that cabin is on fire,” Bachman told an earlier news briefing.
“If there is someone inside the house, he is armed and already killed one of our sheriff’s deputies, so we’re not going to allow anyone to go near that house.”
Police said the man they believe to be Dorner surfaced for the first time in several days after breaking into a home near the ski resort community of Big Bear Lake, tying up a couple there and stealing their pickup truck.
A state game warden apparently on the lookout for Dorner exchanged gunshots with the driver of the stolen truck. The vehicle was later abandoned and the driver fled into the forest.
DEPUTY KILLED
Officials of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said the gunman barricaded himself inside another cabin and engaged in a shootout with police as they closed in on him.
One sheriff’s deputy was shot and killed and another was wounded, Sheriff John McMahon told reporters.
a couple of my LIEberal hipster facebook friends were having an argument that consisted entirely of
a succession of shady blog articles about how either the government WAS or WASN'T using drones to hunt down dorner and THIS IS IT POLICE STATE FIRST MY GUNS NOW ROBOT WATCHDOGS
I need to do something about facebook, I think.
Well I can't really blame anyone for getting alarmed if they think their government is moving the military against their own people.
The drones used in most extrajudicial assassinations abroad aren't military. I mean, that would be a war crime!
Are they sure it was actually him they were shooting at this time? May have been wearing Nikes Dorner may have considered wearing maybe and they opened fire?

I would love this. Because man I make shit, and minimum wage increasing would increase my pay.
Yes but that costs money. Plus what would all those unemployed soldiers do?
