so it isn't coincidence so much as it is his role being made to fit in with the role that he...rolled.

in gandalf's defense, role fluff is mechanically meaningless basically until it is not meaningless anymore. Here is obifett's role
    17. James Raddison – A former Underlund knight, was once a well respected swordsman until the treasure he was guarding was stolen while he was seduced by an auburn-haired accomplice. Now a beggar, his possessions are the robes on his back and the silver sword he once used to fight enemies of the country.

and he was a vig. Basically the roles serve in such a way that munkus can "turn on" an ability on them if the RNG selects them and have it fit with their fluff. So you can't look at anyone and discern if they are actually a special or have powers, but if they DO have a special role, it will fit with their fluff.

A turtle has evidently put more thought and effort into this than a man has.

That, or there were some truly spectacular coincidences going on with the role RNGs lining up so handily. Do the seer's now!

    Dys, the seer, was:
    35. Gideon Faulkner – A one eyed cipher, Gideon handles the Doroga family messages to the Omertan council. Gideon invents a new code each month to ensure that the Doroga family messages are never read by prying eyes. The one eye serves as a reminder to all ciphers that sober lips spill no secrets.

Liiittle bit of a stretch, but "eye" is mentioned an awful lot.

A man might note that, in stories of old, one-eyed seers were nearly as commonplace as sphincters -- all men had one close at hand, though none were pleasing to look upon.

A man is very learned - oh, gods rot it all now you've got me doing it, too!

At any rate, it seems Langly may be on to something...

BUT! It would not be wise to base our actions based on what we *think* someone might be able to do, just based on the small amount of public knowledge we have about that person. He or she could simply be another citizen, or secretly a demon, or could be phallacteried.

that's exactly what I'm saying. role fluff is entirely unimportant as anything can be fit into someone's fluff as their seer power.

my character for instance is a previous survivor and a silent bar maid. so the seer version of me would be that I've seen demons first hand and can spot them, the vig version would be like I took the previous vig's sword and have a vendetta or whatever.

it's meaningless until it isn't, which is why he wrote the roles like that. so we can't make any decisions based off of role fluff at all.

I know that we don't have much to work on, but one off votes like this seem super suspicious to me when we at least have a couple discussions going on.

you're totally not the only person who has done this today, just the one on this page as I was going through vote posts.

I can understand wanting to get a placeholder vote in, or a "see what happens" vote down early in the day. I do those, myself. But voting for someone because he or she has actually managed to distill something of substance from the morass of all our faffing about is just silly.

I like a Phyphor vote for a variety of reasons.

If this is a long con by the mafia, good game for them.

As a reminder to the mafia, the village just lost two specials, including our vig. I'm not sure how effective we will be without them when it comes to hunting shards.

That might fall on the mafia.

Gonna vote for Phyphor as well.

I found his response to the accusation against him strange.

Wanted to say that this is basically why I voted for TRV yesterday. There was a lot going on at the time, and his vote for kime was basically a throwaway.

I have some doubts about the Phyphor vote but at this point it's the best lead we have. I can't really figure why the mafia would out a member, even an invincible one, just to start a wagon like this.

You know what I just remembered, was this question. I don't know what that means. The timing of the votes? The timestamps have all reverted to just showing the date for yesterday's votes.

And the Magic Box is mysteriously not opening to me. Coincidence? I have no idea, actually.

I am having computer problems, so this is from my iPad.

    Clarifications:
    The vote is a sacrifice.
Colors indicating sources were changed for absolute clarity for night two.
Kills that derive power from villagers are not color coded.
If a curse or other effect that required direct input from its original controller to activate, it will be color coded instead.
