[WH40k] Thank the Emperor we're back to dick jokes.

Sigh I really wanted to get a bed with my tax return but alas 40k's siren call
Primed them all white. I had forgotten how hard white is to prime with. It dries slower and takes more effort to coat than black. I was envious of my friend who did his Grey Knights up in black.
I painted one test unit and was fairly happy with the results. I used a pink for his exposed flesh and didn't care much for how bright it was so I need to try a different color. I was looking in the Tyranid codex and saw a unit with blue on his flesh. Since I'm going for a dark blue carapace, that might work well. I'll recolor the pink to a regal blue tonight I think.

Although in my case it's more of a spot colour in between all the dull greens and browns.
But I like to think it looks alright, just mix it with some Kommando Khaki for highlighting and it does the trick.

Edit: HAHA I guess you figured out what was going on REAL FAST!
I'll post a picture tonight. I watched a video showing how to do a feathering technique on the carapace. I was really happy with my 3 layers of blue on the carapace.
I started with a dark blue (almost black) followed by McCragge, followed by Regal Blue.

Cannonesses can't jump pack anymore. That was my first thought, since that'd also let me keep some of the other neat stuff in my full list (the 500 pt list was Celestine, and two sisters squads in Repressors), but that was a no go, and I hadn't brought Celestine out to play that much since the update.
Re: Celestine - if you can keep her away from 2+ saves, and powerfists/ID, yeah, she's a machine. Especially with I7 and Hit&Run, even if you manage to run her down with a dread, or terminators, she can probably flit away, and her number of attacks plus always wounds on a 4+ power sword makes her vicious in challenges. In a bigger game though, I think she'd be a lot less OP, because T3 makes her very squishy, even though she gets better from being dead. Her first charge of the game and she got insta-gibbed on overwatch. In a higher point game with more S6+ weapons, it's much easier to put her down again when she gets back up.
Really, only if the powerfists/axes also have 2+ saves, otherwise she challenges and kills them first, then laughs. The fact that you have to reinvest in killing her turn after turn is what makes her semi-broken, since she essentially creates a no-go zone for a lot of squads - if she comes back to life, she will murder them.

I don't understand the rules of this game. It's says in my notifications that I have Stockholm Syndrome. Thanks guys for coming to my rescue. You proletariat pig-dogs. Viva la revolucion!
Its dumb as hell, is what it is. Everytime I come back from being away this place is less and less what it used to be.

No, because when she comes back, she doesn't meet the qualifications of being a dead unit anymore. She needs to be dead when the game ends to give up KP and Warlord points.
I did however agree that her plasma obliteration met the qualifications for her to give up First Blood,' even if she did get better later on.
Of course the flip side to all of that was without Celestine, it would've been a pretty hopeless game. The only special weapons split between the two soritas squads were a melta, multi-melta, combi-melta, flamer, and heavy flamer, plus the two heavy flamers on the Repressors. So against the sisters, the two squads of cultists were barely speed bumps, but they lacked the firepower to be able to tackle both the Chosen and the Hellbrute, and when the Chosen caught the flamer squad, the sisters got mulched pretty thoroughly.
It's also pretty useless. Heavy weapons on a passenger in an open-topped transport means it effectively has to stand still to fire. One is Heavy 3, so he could snap-shot that if the Chariot moves, but the other is a template weapon so no snap-shots allowed.
I did this with the leftovers of 2 boxes of deathmarks and a box of warriors. You will need to purchase some extra spine bitz (I used Spikey bitz and for like $10 I got ten spines from the immortal/deathmark sprues) but that was all I needed. I used the immortal back torso with warrior front torso and warrior legs.
I think I have some pictures I can post if you want to see the end result.
Edit: Crappy iPhone pics.

The shoulders aren't as big as regular immortals and the legs are skinnier but I feel like it's a good trade off for the money you can save

Also, when I connected the arm to the torso I scraped out a little indent to create a bit of a socket for the arm.

Yeah it's still expensive. I only did 10 models I think it cost me about $100 (CAD) to do 10 immortals and 10 Deathmarks which is considerably better than $180.

I recommend at least 10 deathmarks if you are going to play Necrons anyway. They are a very useful unit.

On an unrelated note it looks like I'm now co-running the Blood Bowl Spring Training League with my local shop's on call manager. It starts at the end of the month.
