Ooh, that's a nice opening. I might have to check it out. And from a quick scan of the wiki page, it looks like it avoids my least favorite musical-anime trope. Ie- person who has never TOUCHED an instrument before discovers they have a SECRET TALENT and can play perfectly the first time they pick said instrument up. Or after a week. Either or.

Most, not all. But the annoying bits were minor enough that it was worth dealing with them, at least for me.
The fact that the main cast are all college age and not in high school is, in itself, a good sign.
