    I just looked it up.

"Henry and I agree, we don't see his picture in the paper anymore"

Oh you two agree about a verifiable fact do you?

Also I think the speech is pretty alright until "I believe there is a hero in all of us" and then it get so ridiculously on the nose I remember being convinced she must know he's Spider-man.

    You'd lose

Call it corny all you want, the crane scene in ASM was an example of a hero actually inspiring, rather than just feeding me a horrible speech about how heroes inspire

All Raimi mustered over three movies were angry New Yorkers throwing trash at Green Goblin

Heh, it kind of sucks how (Iron Man 3 spoilers)
This movie completely trashes the bonding moment between Stark and Banner from the first movie.

"This ring of light is a part of me now. It's a terrible privilege."

"... oh wait, my entire life just got trashed because of it.. fuck it, I'll get it taken out."

Eff the crane haters, that scene in ASM was fine. Schmaltzy and corny, yeah. But it was fun and inspiring and genuinely cool to see people help Spidey when he needed it.

No one should ever help Spider-man.

His life should be nothing but sadness.

I watched Punisher War Journal cuz it was on Crackle.

Holy shit in a bucket, did these people miss the bus on what the point of The Punisher is.
    Nope.

Bombastic, insane action is a completely valid interpretation of The Punisher and War Journal was actually inspired by some of the best Punisher comics out there.

But it wasn't bombastic or insane

just stupid, forgettable and full of weak characters all over the place on top of it.

Plus I don't remember ever reading any comics where Frank Castle hung upside down from a chandelier to shoot people.

Guys they got to place Jigsaw and his brother were pretty fun to watch be nuts, though.

war zone pulls heavily from garth ennis's Welcome Back Frank and MAX runs

to the point where a lot of the scenes probably used actual pages as storyboards

ain't nothing in that movie that doesn't fit in a punisher comic

Finished the first season of Batman Beyond, I'd lost track and thought there was another episode or two to go, but the Paxton ep was a good one to finish on. And the special feature which stripped out dialogue and sound effects from key scenes so you could appreciate the music is so simple but a wonderful idea.

I also love how Beyond came to be:

Head of Programming: "How about a teen Batman?"
Producers: *Pitches Beyond concept off the top of their head*
    HoP: "Great! It's green-lit!"

PUnisher Warzone is a movie where a policeman tries to read a guy his right and the Punisher just blows his head off and Officer just screams "GODDAMN IT CASTLE"

Why does this wonderful movie need defending?

    It defends itself so well.

I did not like the Raimi spider-man movies.

So I'm catching up on the last couple of days of the local police blotter, and man, I know they're horrible and need to go away but I love this city because you get stuff like this
With the exception of a few minor scuffles between clowns and our local superheroes, the 13th Annual May Day March for Worker and Immigrant Rights was a complete success and went off without a hitch.

All those warzone quotes had me picturing Nathan Fillion as Castle doing that stuff and I was thinking that the character must've taken a hard turn in the new season or something.

    Confession:
I like Castle. Complete guilty pleasure.

And the fact that it isn't really a punchline or, seemingly, a huge plot point or anything.

    I only spoilered it because
    it involves Grills' murder.

    Nothing to get mad about

It didn't really upset me much, but then again I am not much of a comic book reader.

The Avengers was so bad it retroactively ruined Iron Man for me. I am not sure I'll watch the new one.

"All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes to make it possible." - T.E. Lawrence
