Twas the Night Before PAXMas: Pre-PAX Boardgame Meetup
@itzzzdae I'm not worried about Edric EDH running an infinite combo deck, although I've heard that's currently in style right now. I'm more worried about seeing 3+ critters played per turn :P
I was wondering if we have any X-Wing players here. I'm not looking to play during the pre-pax boardgame night in particular but I wanted to see if anyone would like to play after the expo hall has closed.

I don't make edh decks like others. Nothing special about them.

X-Wing is fun. I only played a demo. But I just got into Warmachine/Hordes. Also all the Slave Ones are out of stock at my LGS
While I'm still thinking about it: If you play Sentinels of the Multiverse, don't play Visionary, Wraith, Fanatic and Chrono-Ranger against Citizen Dawn at Megalopolis. Took two and a half hours XD
I'll be coming for sure. I usually bring some games (without the actual box) that don't take up room. Eminent Domain, Seasons, and Netrunner will make it's way. I'll see what else I'll be bringing.
@Zionad, I'm interested, and have decks I can bring. It takes soooooo long to play with new players i'm not 100% on it though... maybe we could play a game to 8 power or set a hard time limit or something so it doesn't monopolize 3+ hours?
oops, i meant the boardgame one... i have the edition that has all the houses including dorne, etc

Anyone have th Once Upon a Time card game? It's a story telling game. Saw it on Geek and Sundry. I think I played it once with a friend who had it but she didn't really know how to play it so I'm curious and want to try playing it with someone who owns it and knows how to play it.
Ooh, I saw some requested games I can bring! I've got Android: Infiltration and Once Upon a Time (a great pairing if ever I saw one). I'll also have Netrunner decks
I'll be stopping in with my copies of Munchkin (with the Penny Arcade and The Guild expansions mixed in), Cards Against Humanity, Zombie Dice and the original version of Wits and Wagers.
I'm going to take Sentinels of the Multiverse off the games I'm bringing, since it will still be present due to someone else bringing it. In it's place I will be bringing DC Comics Deck Building Game. I will still watch for any other requests I can fill, but my bag space (which I will be toting over) is almost full.
I'll be bringing Ghost Stories + Both Expansions and Core Worlds + Expansion. If anyone wants me to bring Race for the Galaxy let me know and I'll bring that as well.
I can bring Dominion (sleeved, all expansions and promos), Smallworld (all expansions), Ticket to Ride (all expansions), tons of Magic: the Gathering (40+ EDH decks, powered cube, etc) or whatever else is needed. I have a large board game collection (my BGG is not up to date yet). If no one replies I'll just bring Dominion and some m:tg.
I could also bring some Heroscape maps if people wanted. I can fit 3 maps and 12 armies into 2 bins...
I usually go to PAX for the Video Game stuff, but I'll be staying at the Sheraton and this looks pretty damn fun. Anyone plan on having Fluxx? I was just reading up on that and my buddies and I think it looks great.

Added Fluxx to the request list in the OP. Welcome to the Dork Side!

All I have is the plain, vanilla Fluxx, but I'll bring it along!
I have acquired a copy of the Meta Game: Video Game edition. I have not played it yet but my friends and I looking forward to it. If you've been looking to play let me know and you'll be more than welcome to join.

I actually found a copy also, Museum of Modern Art website of all places, so I'll have a copy to play too, or loan out, either way, I have the first expansion too. I'll definitely be able to add Hanabi to the games I'm bringing, came in the mail yesterday and its so tiny...I could fit it in my pocket, the game is a blast, anyone can easily learn and lots of fun.
I have always wanted to play Fluxx so I am really glad that a lot of people are bringing it! I will bring "We didn't playtest this" and Bananagrams! I hope someone brings Apples to Apples.

Bartender: We don't have Apples. Just Cards Against Humanity.
Ned Nederlander: What's Cards Against Humanity?
Bartender: Uh, it's like Apples.
My wife and I are totally looking forward to this - I scheduled our flight earlier than I originally wanted so that we could arrive at a decent hour to play!
Huzzah! The man and I are totally coming. We are staying at a B&B in Capitol Hill, so we won't be hanging out all hours into the night, but I'm excited to play games. I missed out last year due to extensive drinking (followed by puking) at the triwizard turney. I will most certainly be bringing my old (v.2.1) beat up heavily promo'd Fluxx deck, as well as the kickstarted Dungeon Roll (just arrived!) and possibly other small things I can shove in my purse.

I ought to have my copy of Dungeon Roll there; just got it and put it through it's paces the other day, and am quite convinced it'll be an excellent queue game.
This might sound ridiculous but is there usually a game or 2 of monopoly going on? Truthfully its pretty much one of the only board games I know how to play
Oh my goodness
Oh my Dayum

I can't say that I've ever seen it here. However, people are really nice and always happy to teach newbies, so don't be shy: step up and join some games!

I can't remember the last time I played a boardgame that someone in the group didn't have to be taught the game we were playing, it's just a fact of board gaming, especially once you get into Euro's and stuff, there are just so many different games, its unusual to have everyone know a game unless you have a steady gaming group. 99% of us are more than happy to teach a game, and we can usually ease a new gamer into the hobby, there are plenty of gateway games that are lots of fun to play. If you want to start slow look for a game of Carcassonne, or Settlers of Catan, or you can get in on party type games, like Fluxx or We Didn't Playtest This At All, they're all super easy to play and usually involve lots of hollering and laughing. Most people running a game will let you know if a game is beginner friendly if you only ask. Don't be intimidated, we love getting new people into the hobby!

Based on the list of games that have been declared, I think the following games will be nice entries into the world of board games for you: Carcassonne, Dominion, Fluxx, King of Tokyo, Munchkin, Settlers of Catan and Zombie Dice. I've played almost all of those, and I know them to be fairly simple and low impact games that are easy to learn. Don't worry about sticking to this list, though: If you're walking around that night and something just looks interesting, ask if the person running the game would teach you how to play it. Chances are we will
@LexiconGrrl: Speaking of the games list in the OP, I think I know a few things on it that can be collapsed down or otherwise cleaned up.
Android: Infiltration and Android: Netrunner are two separate games, but they kinda look like one game in that list.
"Edrick" (I think), along with "EDH Deck" and "Spymaster of Trest" could be collapsed into the line for Magic: the Gathering.
I think the Netrunner line can be collapsed in with A:NR, but we would need clarification on whether that person was talking about Netrunner CCG or the Android: Netrunner LCG. They're different.
And, with Mage Knight under the list of declared games, "Mage the Knight Board Game" could probably be crossed out on the request list.

Heh, I was seriously thinking about picking it up for the exact same reason.
You should check out Agents of Smersh, storytelling game but with Cold War spy theme, plays better in my opinion.
Oh man I didn't even know there was an expansion coming out! I'll definitely be hunting you down to try it out lol.

I'll have Love Letter, Samurai Sword, and probably Monty Python Fluxx (with castle expansion) with me.
If anybody is willing to bring Robo Rally, Betrayal At House On the Hill I'd love to play either.
Show up whenever you want. It's not a planned event persay, more like a big game room for folks to drop in if they want.

Hopefully I'm not being too pushy here
