The few shining stars that are actually able to monetize their new media projects are vastly outnumbered by the legions of independent coffee shop baristas from The Midwest with a liberal arts degree, an inflated sense of self worth, and a parental gravy train that they're squandering.

so i am pretty sure that being stopped at a stoplight just saved my life
i left work a little early because like i mentioned earlier i am feeling sort of shitty and there isn't a ton of work to do
normally i leave work at 630 or 7 and there is no real traffic, and like most downtowns houston has rolling lights so i just keep driving along until i am out of downtown, getting to each red light juuuuust as it turns green (yay efficiency!)
but today i left at like 5, so i am in the start of rush hour
and i am kind of getting annoyed because i feel crummy and i just want to be home and i am sitting in traffic and it stinks
i am sitting at a red light in the far left lane on a one way, at an intersection with another one way traveling to my right
and the light turns green
and i start to accelerate
and a dude in a green sedan (ford taurus?) goes blowing through the red light at easily 50mph, missing me by feet - maybe half a lane
if i had been rolling through that light as i normally do he would have hit me square in the door and i would be in a world of shit
random chance is a fucked up thing you guys.
I am very glad you are okay. I saw this happen in San Antonio and it was uh the most terrifying accident I had ever witnessed.

i am a pretty hipstery dude - i like things ironically all the time (look at my friggin avatar) and spend money on obnoxiously random clothes because no one else has them. I won't buy a jersey if I think anyone else will ever have one (almost bought a Tune Squad one from Space Jam but saw someone with one so that was right out)
