People who place a higher value on foils are the best people because it means a lucky person can get a suite of useful cards in exchange for one useful card that isn't actually any more valuable

In 2 headed Giant, we ran one deck Mono black with 4 Gray Merchants and 2 rescue from the underworld with 3 Disciple of Phenax leading into it. Needless to say, fun was had by all. Well mainly us, not so much our opponents.
Sold my collection today. I only got 220 and while I'm pretty sure I got ripped off, the guy was super dismissive and barely price checked anything, there's only one other place around here to sell in bulk like that is over an hour and a half away. Oh well ce la vie
Yeah, he barely looked at my rares or mythics, just looked into my boxes of uncommons that weren't sorted like the money ones and didn't even open my common boxes. He was also rude as hell. It sucks but eh, I'm out of the life

Went 2-2 at my pre release. I went boros weenie, Fabled Hero, 3 favored hoplites among other good heroic 1/2 drops with plenty of spells. Stomped my first 2 opponents before they could even do anything. 1st loss was to a guy who stalled me out long enough to drop 3 of those 6/5 trample foxes, what the fuck. @nd loss was to R/G. It was simply faster than mine, with bigger creatures once he had the mana, something I didn't have, just curved way better. Didn't open anything crazy, but got a few good cards, dimir scry land, anger the gods, rare murder. Pretty decent day.
I'm loving theros, can't wait to draft this friday.

My brother went to today's pre-release, and also got first place 4-0! We are the kings of Theros.
Also, it turns out that we're only getting half of the prizes this week. They'll be giving us the rest next week, so that's another 6 packs between the two of us.

That makes a lot more sense. Still a bit on the low end, but that (hopefully) just means they give out prizes deep in the standings.
I think the worst thing in a magic tourney is having a quick last game or a bye and then not being able to figure out if you'll get a prize until all the games are done and you just sit around waiting for the possibility of getting nothing.

So I went 4-1-1 at the prerelease yesterday, going BUG colors. Had a heart of the cards moment when I topdecked the flying bestow creature to target my hero that taps stuff in order to get through the opponent's flying creature and deal 12 damage when I was at ONE LIFE AND THEY HAD AN UNBLOCKABLE CREATURE.
