I almost frowned heavily at Capcom when a pawn killed himself falling off a cliff and my attempt to slide down to rez him ended up with me dead and apparently 20 minutes backwards in game time. Quit and reloaded again and I think it sorted it out, but nice weird save system they have here.
Edit: Grabbed Yersinia from @HiT BiT apparently. I will now blame him if I die horribly.
The only way to cheat the system and hire overpowered pawns is to friend people, at which point you can hire their pawn for free. Otherwise you simply can't realistically hire something 50 levels above you because the rift crystal cost is massive. Since hired pawns don't level, the system is basically designed around you replacing pawns every so often. Sometimes with ones at your level for free, or paying a more reasonable rift crystal cost for one 5 or so levels above you.

Yeah, I don't mind it. I just wish it was less costly in the earlier levels to hire pawns 5-6 levels above you. I hate having to head back and redo the pawns so often early on. Later on leveling is slower so it's not that big of a deal.

If there's anything I wish this game had, it's support for multiple saves under one system profile (Steam/PSN/XBL id). Not traditional save slots. This would be more like career profiles in other games, where each fresh new game started (not NG+) becomes its own, isolated set of saves.
It wouldn't be a stretch from there to allow a player to have 2-3 pawns on offer, from which an Arisen could rent just one.
You can use it to nab some weapons and get the +DP ring if you are fast.

For multiple saves on PC you can use the DDDA Save Manager. It lets you easily swap between different saves. You can even switch between saves without restarting the game, though you do have to go back to the Main Menu.
A Capellan's favorite sheath for any blade is your back.
I've never had one outright jump off a cliff or some such before.
But I've been running along the river near Gran Soren before and had the pawns just decide to go off to the middle (as opposed to either side or the stuff poking above the water line) and drown themselves.

I should add that if you're sending a friend request to any of my PSN or Steam accounts to use my pawns, please @me or PM me so I know about it. I don't regularly check my alt accounts, and haven't regularly used my PS3 for a while.
Sure, mention the light. But not the never ending tentacle monsters down there. Pretty sure it's a problem NOW, Barnaby.
Next time I'll remember to equip levitate and just jump down!
Edit: Or not, since it seems levitate is only good for crossing small gaps and does jack for falling...
Fun spoiler thing for Everfall. Though you are past it.
If you have pawns in your group who have encountered it before they'll scream to "RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!" and they'll haul ass out of there leaving you behind.

Worked out food was spoiling finally after the first dozen times.
Just worked out targeting yesterday.
Just realized the support pawns aren't leveling right now.
This makes giving them stuff less than ideal, phooey.
And then I found a (baby?) Dragon. This did not go well for the idiot pawn who did not follow me as I booked it.
Food spoils but there is tupperware for them. But it's scarce in DA.
Targeting needed a tutorial but you can choose yourself or someone else with a buff by pressing the left stick. Some spells like Levin can target multiple enemies or different body parts from a big one.
Giving items to pawns is usually a bad idea. Item is sent to the owner which is good for trading. You are supposed to change them as you gain levels.
Yup, there is a wandering drake in that area and some pawns have not useful personality traits that affect the AI.

There's nothing terribly wrong with giving items to pawns. You always get everything back if you dismiss them. Since there's a weight system in place, it pays to give them the heavy stuff in a pinch.

The AI-weighting is a mysterious alchemy even once it becomes easy to manipulate.
Fournival wanders around a lot. Lives just outside the castlegrounds, so he'll show up there in the morning and evening, at least.
I almost always find him there or at the black cat. I've found him other places before, but he's at those two so often I don't bother unless I happen to find him while running from one to the other.
I gave up looking for the Black Cat (did I mention I seem to be bad at this?).
At least Chimera's are chumps now!
Walk out the door from the Inn.
Turn left.
Head straight until you hit the waterway area.
Turn left and go down the steps.
Cross the bridge on your right.
Go to your left until you can turn right down the first road.
Go straight down this road till you hit the buildings.
Turn and go to your right.
Walk till you can go left.
Go straight till you can turn left again.
You should see a sign near an alley on the left, the black cat is down that little alleyway.
Once you have been close enough to it once to identify it it will show up on your map when you look at it.
Facing out from that alley straight ahead and a bit to the left is the building Madeiline sets her shop up in.
I missed it a lot initially as well. Even picking the game up again it took me a hot minute to find it.
But once you get used to where to go it's pretty easy to find, and that it shows up on the map after finding it the first time is a huge help to start getting used to where it is.

That's very much late game, 50-60+ stuff. I did most of my Bitterblack at 80-90.

So many weapons from the Ur-Dragon lost.
Capcom better announce a SRPG of Dogma soon to make me feel better.

Hm. Do I buy this again, after owning it on 360 and PC?

In DA you might have the eternal ferrystone in your bank. Not sure what the deal is your version.
Black Cat is in the alleys not far from blondie's store.

Not bad idea giving them items that cure petrification. Items that affect the whole party are fair game.
