    I'm just Hitting Buttons in Stata 12 (Graphics --> Scatterplot Matrix --> selecting two variables) but the output is two different scatter-plots in a four-square pattern (where the other two squares are the labels for each variable). I want each variable to be one axis of the scatter-plot.

    try
    twoway scatter wdi_gdpgr wdi_gr, scheme(economist) msize(0.7) mlwidth(none) msymbol(X)
