I seem to remember hearing that Negima is basically what happens when publishers demanded another Love Hina but the writer wanted to make a shonen action manga, so he made the latter and disguised it as the former.
I remember Negima being okay, who knows how much that's some nostalgia.
I watched Negima recently, it was okay, but with a lot of problems.
I think that's a series where the show only covered a small part of the manga then did its own thing, while the manga goes for much longer and is much better.
You should pick it up again at some point but I understand, it's huge of an exhausting show to power through because nobody is ever safe and nothing is static

Recently finished Hate Plus, all of it, and I really like how Christine Love writes characters. They're straight up visual novels, but no porn or anything. Pretty bleak at times, but all in all two excellent stories with solid characters.
Love Hina is better than most 'harem' shows but considering how awful harem shows are that says almost nothing. It's still really bad. If you want a good show that uses a similar format and premise watch Ouran Highschool Host Club which is goddamn hilarious and has really fun main characters and-ohmygodisitafullmoonihaveanimeopinions.

So, more thoughts on Project M.
After the initial hump of dealing with the weird idiosyncrasies of this being designed for tourney play, I'm having a pretty good time with it. The *new* characters are pretty fun, and while I wouldn't say all of the movepool changes are for the better, mostly their pretty good. Having to manually trigger that swing on Ike's dash is messing me up something fierce though.
Still bummed that they took out almost all of the stages I like. Is there any way to mess with the files to get the old maps back? I miss Spear Pillar.
