Conversely, I would rather let it all burn than witness a world without Varric because you killed him what's wrong with you you monster

If that dude is a companion , he'll instantly win points in my book for the mustache alone.
The elf in the back is thinking 'I picked the right prop bet.'
Do not engage the Watermelons.
On one hand, it makes sense, and on the other hand we might end up with another Anders situation.
If they turn him into a face heel-turn DA2 Anders situation (without decent context to back up the change in character, I mean - I'm all for the guy gradually turning against the party because well thats the sort of choice-and-consequence Bioware are peddling this time), I will shit bricks and hurl chunks plus whatever proverbial expressions of spite I can think of
That said...I'm not so sure he'll be 100% with every decision the Inquisitor makes like he was with Hawke.

Considering the concept art, I wouldn't get my hopes up. Another case of Scary/ugly Males with attractive slightly amazonian women
I guess technically not a bean pole, but compared to the males.
Everyone, you listen to Makani.

People on the bioware forums apparently think the guy to (our left) of the Inquisitor is
The male elf in the background almost looks like a male variation of a rumored companion
Varric isn't necessarily 100% with Hawke, either. Remember, you can get rivalry with him. If you're a terrible person.

I guess...but man...that's like baby-eating levels of terrible or something.
And the elf in the back is like "I like where this is going..."

We already know Cassandra, Varric, and Vivienne.
I could see Cullen and Leliana making an appearance too. Leliana gives you that DA1 connection and Cullen is popular and also a Templar so you get that viewpoint.
Potential spoilers from that one really early leak
Rogue: Varric, that guy from the 3rd book, the really ugh stereotypical elf
Warrior: Cassandra, the qunari merc
I could definitely see Cullen being a party member. I was actually surprised when I saw him in DA2, and even more surprised that
The guy with the goofy moustache and goatee is totally an orlesian, I can figure that much out just by looking at his face.
I plan on playing a rogue, provided rogues are more fun than they were in DA2... I kinda found rogues boring in the second game. Then it'll be like I played a warrior in DA1, Mage in DA2, and Rogue in DA3.
I still want monks though.

I like veal.
Do not engage the Watermelons.
His change from DA:O asshole to his redemption is one of the reasons I like to side with the Templars. Aside from the mages being dick-nozzles the whole game.

now I'm hoping for a scene like this

My inquisitor will be a sociopath who tells his companions whatever they want to hear in order to win favor.

I think the only Templar that ever won me over was Aveline. I disagreed with her on a daily basis, would have gladly killed her and her husband to protect Beth in the intro but she stood by me through thick and thin. 100% honor that one.
I wouldn't say they're all douche nozzles as much as Bioware has been a lil too concerned with trying to make the templars look good.
They think players would naturally be inclined to side with the mages so they add a bunch of random out of nowhere craziness to balance it out, what they don't get is people are pragmatic. A lot of players would instinctively side with the Templars anyway because it's the most logical way to maintain peace and order, a mage revolution is a very chaotic element and possibility and Bioware have done more to unnecessarily weigh things in favor of the Templars than they think they have, I would think.
Dragon Age 2 focuses more on showcasing every crazed nutcase who can wield a spell within a five mile radius and why they should probably be wearing a hannibal lector containment outfit than it does a lot of the good that could come from magic.
Though I did find the bit with tranquility in Anders' quest interesting. Throughout Origins, they always told you that they were fine with the treatment but DA2 seems to demonstrate it's a lot more fucked up than that.
Maybe Inquisition will change my mind back again, though that would be quite a feat.
My bad.
That's all that da2's ending needed
