But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow and The Falcon, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off friend and foe alike, with a secretive assassin, known only as The Winter Soldier, looming closer and closer every second.

Those who thought Jasper Sitwell running off to Lemurian Star in last week's episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was the ABC series' idea of a crossover with Captain America: The Winter Soldier were sorely mistaken on Tuesday night. In truth, the implications of how Marvel's latest blockbuster will affect the TV offshoot run much, much deeper... What does this mean for the show? It's the start of a new era... Thanks to Captain America 2 leaving its story open-ended, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. now has ample opportunity to take hold of the reins when it comes to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s future.
Seriously, if you haven't seen The Winter Soldier, go see it. Right now. You can't? Why? Oh, right, it's 3:00 in the morning. Um, well, go see it first thing in the morning. You have work? Well, uh, tell them you have a serious case of Lemurian Whooping cough. If they tell you that's not a real thing, you're on your own.
Oh, right, and I guess there are other superhero related movies coming out later this summer. Let's take a look at some trailers while you figure out how to go see The Winter Soldier at the earliest possible convenience.

Brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits-Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer.

The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. The beloved characters from the original "X-Men" film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from "X-Men: First Class," in an epic battle that must change the past -- to save our future.
Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man are both slated to come out next summer, and Captain America 3 is due for release on the same day as Batman Vs. Superman in 2016. But there's enough superhero goodness for us to sink our teeth into at the moment, so let's focus on that for right now.
Have fun, mark your spoilers, and if you haven't seen the movie yet, for your own sake more than anything else,
do not click the spoilers.

Ah well, next time
Let me just nestle myself in a warm cocoon of MCU Blu-rays and GOTG trailers and think about all the wonderful things they've done so far and what's to come
The Game of Thrones thread is taking too long to get locked, and I wanted to write an OP.
It's all their fault, basically.
I mean, it was one of the megathreads, so it doesn't REALLY count, but still
they grow up so fast
I am finally catching up on Arrow. I still think Oliver is dick to Felicity.
A few things I would like to say are back in my day we were happy enough to get one post credits scene you kids today and your 2 or better
What I took from the film is I really now do think people are right that we are going to get the civil war thing to come. Just how it will work is something I am curious about if true
Also in the credits there were a lot of effects companies that worked on that film
When they have the veterans groups scene I told my brother and friend I had something to say about that
Steam ID - VeldrinD
Holy goddam shit. Just the whole thing. Wow.
Steam // Secret Satan
Hawkeye 25?
Why I fear the ocean.
I think the only non-megathread I've done that with is the one for Gears of War.
Anywho, looking at Jonathan Hickman's work and I'm surprised at how.. little he's done at Marvel outside of his big epic stuff like Secret Warriors, SHIELD< Fantastic Four/FF, Avengers/New Avengers and his Ultimate Universe work. Just a couple of one-shots and a six-issue story in "Astonishing Tales."
It's like they almost immediately saw what he was good at and gave him the reigns.
I didn't watch the preview, but ...
Second viewing? not so much. He looked much more meditative then displeased, and the eye-flick looked more "psychopath" than "oh, what have I done?!"
edit: that said, it's reasonable for him to be brainwashed; Garrett pulls him aside for a moment on the plane to "catch him up", and might have done something to him then.
Tried to see it yesterday, but there was a giant storm and the theatre in the mall lost power. At least we got some kobe burgers and corn grits.
I really want to see this movie y'all.
Also, when Ward mentioned to Skye about the time she offered to talk to him, that was from the episode with the rage staff. Maybe it's something related to that too. They did say that the rage staff makes people see the darkest part of themselves.
Ward had that discussion with Skye ... when he thought that Hand was the clairvoyant
he was willing to reach out at that point
when he learned that Garrett was the clairvoyant, something changed.
Maybe that something was brainwashing kicking in
Maybe that something was the good guys setting up a long con
I don't know. But he went from wanting to have a drink with Skye to murdering Hand.
I couldnt not have popcorn or a hot dog. These are movie necessities
So next week for me.
If Ward had recently joined Hydra, it could be due to the effects of the rage staff, perhaps even addiction, and Hydra offering some way to suppress it.
I find it crazy you can get tons of other foods at the Cinema now
Like Pizza, various types of burritos, the ubiquitous nacho , hamburgers and hot dogs and so much more
My brother has one of those rewards cards and was offered a free popcorn but passed since he would have to get a drink
this is a cap 2 spoiler, by the way. Not some extra joke about theater food or whatnot
I kind of feel like at this point Ward is (or at least should be) just irredeemable. He killed the decoy, he probably killed a few level 5s at the Hub, and that's just assuming he didn't know about Garrett already. Then of course there's Hand and the two escorts. That's one innocent and three SHIELD operatives confirmed, and at least one or two more speculated. I'd kind of like to see Ward just go villain, I think it'd be interesting. IF it turns out Hand is alive, I'll be happy that she lived (she just got interesting), but upset if it means there was some sort of long con working and Ward turns out to be just undercover. I really kind of like Garrett and Ward as a big bad.
Garrett being the Clairvoyant was a pretty damn good twist, but I wish they'd either made him clearly a loyal Hydra operative, or not related to Hydra at all. As it is, it's too murky (of course that sort of thing makes perfect sense in a spy story), but it makes me genuinely wonder if anybody at Hydra has or will have access to Centipede and/or Deathlok.
So sure, he made that speech to Skye, because he is trying to get her loyalty and to manipulate her. That's the whole goal. She's a super important asset (we've been told) and that's how he's going at it.
Personally, I don't really think that his betrayal makes much sense without either some sort of catalyst like brainwashing or black mail etc. It's the sort of twist that was clearly thought about after episodes were made, because his actions and depictions while alone aren't the actions of a mole.
Never
ever
get the hot dogs
Oh no these are kosher franks and have posted time codes for how long theyve been out. Theyre ok

aos spoilers
DC wishes it was as cool as Sam Wilson
Oh certainly.
So should I bother getting caught up on AoS since I stopped watching after like five episodes, or jump right in? Or just not bother at all?
AoS spoilers
Brett Dalton has mentioned in a nother interview that he thinks that was the right way to do it, as he wouldn't have been able to pace the revelations right. His body language would given away too much too early.
I agree that the result isn't that great either, because you got no hints at all. I blame Loeb.
It gets much better. I don't remember the exact ep where it really picked up...probably ep10 (the bridge) is where the continuity kicks in. Every episode after that gets better.
