Third time attending PAX but this will be my first time trying out Buttoneering! I just finished making a button design, and there's a local place where I'll get mine printed. For those around Vancouver, BC, I recommend SixCentPress! c: cheers

after falling down a nightmarish persona 4 hole in the last few days and playing 30+ hours in less than a week i'm tempted to switch to a P4 button.

this is the story of how i ended up with no buttoneering button for pax.

Additionally, can someone who's worked with the metallic acetate let me know - does the white have to be pure white in the graphic?

If you scroll up to my earlier post on this page you can see how my avatar turned into a metallic button - basically all the white on my avatar is silver with the metallic acetate. :)

I snagged a cute little drawstring bag (originally meant for knitting) off etsy to hold my buttons and I think it's going to work out great. It has a carabiner for hanging off my main bag and it's very roomy & sturdy.

Where did you get that bag? It's adorable!

So the buttons came *really* fast this year.

Ordered my buttons on Tuesday (July 29th) and buttons were in my hand by that Friday. Amazingly quick turnaround. Bravo. Happy with how they turned out.

Quick pic I took this morning

The only thing (which is totally my fault) is that I should have used a bolder rim text font. (i.e. Arial Black) The rim text is there, but you may have to squint to see it. :p

It's from this etsy shop. Shipping was quick, too, so there's probably still time to grab one!

new to the forums and first year for PAX, and thought buttoneering sounded way too much fun not to try! Didn't have enough time to create anything really original. Hope these aren't looked too down upon for that. Looking forward to meeting a lot of you guys in a couple weeks!

Edit: This image is much smaller. Sorry about the previous slow load guys! :s I'm not on forums much and accidentally forgot to check my images dpi late last night, won't happen again. (hooray for conforming!)

Also, you all get free, appropriately sized, image hosting on the Buttoneering website. Hit the "edit" button on any of your buttons to get the BBCode to link it here.

    Hey all,

You might remember me as the guy with those letter buttons that (will) spell out my name. (I think last year we got to 'L'.)

Unfortunately due to a wedding (I guess I've been going to PAX for a long time lolz) I won't be attending this year's PAX but I will be back for 2015 assuming no one else gets married (I think all my remaining friends are losers like me so...).

I just wanted all 20 of you that care to know that and not to panic you aren't going to the 'E' button. XD

And yes I'm still planning on something cool for anyone who collects all 7 buttons...

tl,dr: Not attending PAX Prime this year, next year for 'E' button!

How essential is the rim text? I just noticed that I didn't add that to the additional notes when I ordered my buttons. Awaiting their response about it but figured i'd ask encase it's irreversible.

Just got an email that they've shipped, sans rim text.

Alright guys! This is it, your final weekend to order and be reasonably sure you'll get them on time. On that note, here's this year's official button:

    20114_Official.png

For those who haven't done this before, you get the official button in exchange for dropping of your button in THE JUG. On Saturday night (usually) the contents of THE JUG are placed onto a corkboard, which is then presented to Gabe and Tycho the next day. They hang these up in their office, and we've been doing this for a number of years now. I'm going to dig through the schedule to get all the official times and dates for all this. The button itself is slightly larger than normal, and makes it patently obvious that you are participating in Buttoneering (thereby making it easier for people to find you to trade).

Anyway, here's my button this year:
    zombie.png

And that lovely young lady you see there, who has also graced my buttons for the past few years, is attending her first PAX and trading as well. Here's her button that she designed herself:

A couple years ago we met someone at the Monday afternoon meet and have wanted to bring buttons ever since. My bummed out Mii seemed appropriate as I spend *way* too much time at PAX doing Streetpass and the Rabbid Platypus is my son's button.

Typically JonXP and myself (at least as of last year) also carry the Buttoneering buttons to trade, so if you find one of us first you can trade us the buttons you want on the board for the Buttoneering button as well. I'm assuming that will be the case again this year.

Not at all. It's by no means mandatory, and is basically just there to make it easier to figure out who gave you the button and when. It's preferred, but no one is going to refuse a trade due to it. :D

I haven't used #buttonradar before, but I was thinking it might be useful if the re-broadcasting did include images. So people could attach a pic of their button to the tweet, and others could better decide to seek that person out or not based on if they already had it. Too late for this year i'm sure, but maybe something to think about for future PAXen.

Not a terrible idea, but the reason I strip everything out is because what I've essentially made is a spam bot. I can't moderate it real time, and it's only useful in real time, so I made some tough trade offs to keep it from being shut down by twitter or made useless for you guys.

Question homies: Is it too late to get some buttons? I realize that with the current discount I can get a batch of 50 custom buttons pretty easily, and that'd be a nice starting amount for my first PAX, I think. :3 But I had some things get in teh way... hopefully not too late. I want my backpack to be covered in buttons and pins. X3
