Well the first Heisei series was about a Kamen Rider going up against a group of monsters that didn't have any actual world conquering or destroying goal. They were just serial murderers playing weird murder games. It took a while for the Heisei era to get more kid-friendly.

Oh i know, it just amuses me that it's advertised and clearly aimed at selling toys to kids, and simultaneously in between the goofy, has all this dark and ridiculous shenanigans going
They had the scene where 02 was fighting and surrounded by the bodies of all the humagears that'd returned to normal then later had Ark Zero surround by all the broken humangear melting into sludge.
This episode was really good.

I forgot if I've mentioned this but the Den-Liner crew were gonna appear as part of a movie-package this week, their film being called Kamen Rider Den-O: Pretty Den-O Appears! They weren't exactly kidding with the name if these pictures are any indication.
The film's about a girl named Anna who finds herself chased by Shocker for some reason only to escape on the Den-Liner with everyone heading back to the first year of the Heisei era, 1989. Seems like she'll end up getting a turn with the Den-O Driver before the film's over.
Finished watching Zi-O. Wasnt bad, but wasnt great either. also, ooof. That had some of the worst suit designs for a while.
I really wish they'd get past "Cram all the things" onto the suit to indicate to it's a combination of all proceeding powers. It always looks bad (except maybe for king form blade)

I liked the suits myself. Mind you, I kinda agree with the Final Form assessment you had.
Grand Zi-O's fine but the idea that it's still an incomplete Ohma Zi-O probably should have been taken further to the point where the solo movie's Ohma-Form would have been the proper final step. They've brought in movie-forms into a Kamen Rider series before so it wouldn't be that weird and I really like the 'purified' look Ohma-Form had in contrast to his bad future's appearance.
Next week's Kamen Rider Zero-One's gonna introduce a new form for a Rider.
Mind you, it's a repaint but it seems like Vulcan's gonna be using Naki's Key to achieve what comes off visually as a purified Assault Wolf. Though that begs the question of where Naki is and why they aren't using the Key themselves at the moment.
Kamen Rider Zero-One's squeezing in one more Rider into their ranks for the crossover movie it seems though we may see them in the final episode as well.
No clear idea of the character's deal or name though he does look appropriately villainish.
For my money, the best all in one suit they've done is Genius form, because it had a slick, clean aesthetic - it dosent look the best in stills, but it looks fantastic in action. Grand Zi-O is just too busy. Oma-Zio is a much, much better design.
The best all around suit design i'd have to give to Zero-One right now. Just so good with like the exception of a couple of vulcans forms? and even then i appreicate how Zero One/AIMS/MJ.net had such distinct looks between them all.
Looking foward to seeing how the movie goes! Been a damn good ride.

Agreed on all counts, though I'm not a fan of Ohma Zi-O. I do like the movie's Ohma form
Genius does look a lot better than it did in stills, though I think my favorite of the all-in-one forms is probably Gaim's Kiwami Arms (which is a step down from Kachidoki, but a good form on its own). Worst has got to be Ghost's Grateful (although basically every other suit in that show rules), with Grand Zi-O being very close, it's far too gaudy
I enjoyed Zero-One quite a bit and I'll agree that it has probably the best suits ever. 10/10 aesthetic, both visually and musically

Ehh, i dislike Kiwami arms personally. Kachidoki arms was fantastic, and while i get that Kiwami is leaning into the samurai warlord asthetic even harder (at least, i believe it is?) to my western eyes, Kachidoki arms was way, way better. Especially on use of color.
Which is another thing Zero-One got really right, it's use of color on the armor - simple bold designs with simple bold colors was real good. Standout is probably MS.Net's armors, and i'm sad we didnt get to see more of them fighting as a full team of four. Zero-Two was also such a fantastic design, just so fucking clean

According to what happened, Rising Hopper got turned into Realizing Hopper, a boosted version of Zero-One's base-form that's nearly as strong as Zero-Two. The Zero-Two Driver also may have been altered into a new Zero-One Driver and it's unclear if it can change back, leaving Zero-Two possibly unreachable and unneeded.

OOO is definitely still my favorite. Great characters, both good guys and bad guys. Great suits designs, and no final upgrade that’s bloated or overdesigned. I love the whole medal economy. OOO’s abilities and the way they could mix and match was fun.

So far my reaction to Saber is waaaay too much CG. (Which, frankly, is something that KR sucks at - they never have good CG, and they do amazing practical effects generally).
I'll give it a couple more episodes, but it's leaving me pretty flat so far - not grabbing me the way Zero-One or Build Did.

“I think some of the boys like it,” her daughter said dismissively.

To which her daughter reacted by going right back to talking about Demon Slayer.

“You mean you wish you were Kamen Rider?”

Kamen Rider Femme's daughter sandbagged her super hard. The actress is now holding out hope her son will eventually think she's cool.
Odds are Kato still has several more years until that’s an aspect of the show her daughter will find appealing though, so for now she’s staking her hopes on her second child, a one-year-old boy, being a little more impressed when he learns about her part in the Kamen Rider legacy.
More news about Zero-One's solo-film came out today via a look at the new form we'll be seeing in it.
This is Zero-One's Hell Rising Hopper. No word yet on what it can do but it seems at the very least to be thematically opposed to the movie's villain, Kamen Rider Eden.
Some viewers feel that Kamen Rider Saber's songs oughta be switched around and someone apparently decided to see if that worked by putting the ending song over the opening.

So far, it feels very much all sound and fury. Zero-One was way, way more grounded to start with, and set the stakes a lot more clearly? coherently? Unsure of the word i'm looking for.

I actually don’t mind the end dance, but I agree that the song they use should be for the opening credits. The current opening is way too slow
Mei is the best part of the show for me, she has such great reactions to everything. Rest of the cast seems Fine.
