First Timers Meetup [ 9:00 @ Console Freeplay]

DATE AND TIME - Friday august 29th between the two console freeplay areas.

okay so this will be my first pax ever, and i was wondering if any other first timers would like to meet up during the convention. Veterans are welcome too. But the idea is for people that haven't been going for years to meet people and do things without having to feel like a total noob.

i was thinking within PAX would be easiest. probably before or after one of the main shows/panels. what do you guys think? to be honest i am not exactly sure what there is around seattle to do if we wanted to meetup outside of PAX.

This isn't my first PAX but usually my husband and I usually cloister ourselves away in the Expo hall silently judging all those people who stop for no reason in the middle of the walkways... this year I'm hoping to find some local people to hang out with who can appreciate a good game of Borderlands or Left 4 Dead as much as we do. Maybe we can even hang out outside of PAX (unless that's creepy?? I have no idea - this is how bad my social skills have degenerated).

Of course we'll have you! the idea is to meet new people. you don't have to be a first timer just figured most people that have been before would already have friends.

Well Thursday night I will be playing tabletop at the Sheraton. We could always meet up at Gameworks for some drinks and arcade games to kick things off, (that would be more of an after PAX sort of thing though.) I am open for any ideas really.

yeah friday should work nicely its mostly a question of where, and Gameworks is looking to be the best option so far. does anyone have any other suggestions?

Gameworks is great but they do kick out the under 21's at 9. You might want to think about starting there and then moving to the Sheraton lobby. I spent the majority of my post-pax evenings in that lobby last year and I can tell you it's a great place to group up for gaming or just hanging out.

You could try adding your name in the pax forum badge thread and just wear that. If enough people do that it'll be pretty easy to identify who's there for the meet up.

when the schedule for pax goes up we can look at when we will meet on Friday. The Forum badges isn't a bad idea either. i'd say just look for the people with pax entrance badges but i get a feeling that a lot of people are going to head to game works after the show.
