I think it'd be nice if people would make threads about individual threads they're playing, but I'm aware that my preference for that thinking isn't universal. For me as a user, I'd rather see a thread about Tomb Raider than a 80 page threads where maybe people talked about Tomb Raider at some point. For recurring threads, I also like to be able to see a really specific niche that the thread is fulfiling. The Steam thread for example, is chatty and off-topic in a way that sets it apart from the G&T one, but is still clearly about Steam and PC games in general.
But yeah, anyway, this isn't punitive and it may come back. I mean, it may not, depending on how things go, but I am not planning this as a permanent thing by any means. A certain amount of this job involves changing a thing and then noting what happens.
There's a few thread characteristics we try to avoid
1. Recurring excessively
2. Being home to users who don't post anywhere else (particularly if it's a point of pride
3. Containing a lot of treehousing
Which are true of this thread to at least some extent. It's not really punitive though, I just think the thread could do with a break. I don't think it's ever had one, and I can recall specifically excluding this thread when we last locked a bunch of megathreads. I believe they still have a thread in G&T, although you'll have to, you know, talk about Giant Bomb in it.

Facebook is a hell of a site. Some users who post frequently on their FB pages are friends with users who do not, and there are photos of peoples' "friends" on the sidebar.
I actually think it's pretty impressive and honestly kinda heartening that it's possible to be a prominent internet personality with a separate private life
Nobody knows the names of Brad or Jeff's girlfriends, Vinny nearly managed to have two kids secretly, Drew is a North Korean sleeper agent

- The TVGuide crew is really nice, and have likened themselves to Giant Bomb but for TV instead of games (so...Screened, I guess)
- Vinny and Los Caravellas are having another kid and so he will not be at PAX
- Vinny does not have much/any of his stuff because it's all in storage, so he has been playing Harvest Moon while his family is napping
- Vinny does not have his guitar (storage) but he wants to start a band with Alex and Letty from TVGuide who also plays a mean axe.
- NewEgg may or may not accept returns on ill-fitting PC parts.
- Vinny's middle name is Joseph. Alex's middle name is Alexander. The PC will be named Brock "Gertrude" Lesnar.

I know a guy whose parents thought "middle name" meant "nickname" (they are not from this country), so his full name is basically "Joseph Joey X"
@AtomicTofu nobody answered you I the last thread, but the Sly Collection is totally worth $10.00. They are my favorite playformers on the PS2, I bought the collection on disc for PS3 and 100%ed all three games. The conversions are good, each game has it's own set of trophies, and they hold up super well.

It's a family name (IIRC, he's actually like Verlin William Smith IV) and I remember asking him if he had a boy, would he pass the name down. I don't recall one way or another if he said yes/no.
