Just like to make my monthly statement that Scott and Emma breaking up was a stupid idea and the way they wrote it sucked and I wish Emma was currently being written by someone who actually did stuff with her.
I saw Future Shock at a film festival last night. It was an interesting documentary on the comic company 2000AD. It talked about almost its entire history, from the start of it during the rise of 70's British punk all the way until today and about its influence on other comics and pop culture. It has a bunch of interviews with a lot of comic artists and writers that got their start at the company.
If you enjoyed the film Dredd and want to know more about where that came from I recommend checking it out. They are only showing it at film festivals for now but are planning on a home release in the near future.
Anywho, as mentioned earlier, Dracula Untold is rumored to be getting extra scenes to make it the first movie of a big shared universe of Universal monsters.
So that's the MCU, DC, X-Men/FF (it'll happen eventually), Spider-Man, Star Wars and now Universal Monsters that are getting splatted out into big expansive film franchises, rather than just a series of sequels or book/comic spinoffs. What's next? Star Trek? Ghostbusters? (if Dan Ackroyd gets his way) Maybe Harry Potter?
Look if this is a leadup to a remake of The Monster Squad I am 200% approving.

I don't like shows like The Daily Show, Colbert Report, Last Week Tonight, Real Time, etc because I really hate crowds cheering at political statements

If you didn't need any more reason to hate Maher he made a joke in his recent standup which is repugnant enough for me not to repeat but involved Jerry Sandusky and Donald Trump.
