    The dialect/language thing is really pretty interesting! Languages are really cool. Like is Silesian a different language than Polish or just a different dialect? who knows! Why does Basque have basically nothing in common with any other language in Europe? People have theories but no one is really sure!

    Language history is something I find very interesting

    My friend is working on a roguelike game you can play if you want to. (It has free demo)

    Re-posting, because I too like languages a lot

    Who here likes languages? I do! A lot! So yes, as you can see the scandinavian languages are ridiculously similar, that's why Emil and Tuuri are able to speak with Sigrun even though they technically don't share a language. Same goes for Mikkel if he slows down and makes an effort to speak clearly. Of course the vocabulary here is very basic so it's bound to be extra similar between related languages, the languages are not quite as identical as the page here would suggest, but close. Poor Lalli on the other hand has to get by with the most impenetrable language barrier there ever was.

    Let me know if anything is misspelled or downright incorrect, guys! I have to rely on various online lexicons for getting the Icelandic, Norwegian and Danish translations so they could be wrong. xP Tomorrow: big language tree graph!

    Finnish is closer related to Hungarian than the Germanic languages. The only country between the two that shares this distinction is Estonia.

    Language Migration can be weird sometimes.

    Makes sense, and that there's only one norwegian in the group so far. I meant the unknown has quite a lot of stylistic similarities with the icelandic mage archetype.

    Sheeeit, browsing back through the archives always makes me dumbstruck about how goddamn well this thing is drawn.
