Holy shit, I have fallen deeply, deeply in love with the Ameli
I have a variant that has more range and rate of fire in return for accuracy (it's still super accurate) and handling (which doesn't matter)
It is so fucking great, can easily drop people in 3-4 hits out to range and shoots super fast, and also I tend to get a ton of headshots with it.
Totally took it with me when I prestiged, I love that they kept that feature.
i need to stick with a gun, i guess. I have unlocked a few things for that starting automatic rifle, the bal-21? and the starting SMG, but I am not a big fan of either of them.
Exo movement + explosive resistance being worth a damn + the heavy shield being able to repair itself after taking bullet impacts (which I was so happy to discover) means that this is a golden age for the shield, I'm doing the best I've ever done with it. The slide is really good for closing the gap. I don't think the Shock Plant is that useful, but I'll keep it on for the moment.
I find that the shield is only alright in kill confirmed. People can dash away too fast for it to be really effective, but it sure can cover you as you pick up those tags. Melee range is too short for it to be great.
and I wonder about my neighbors even though I don't have them
but they're listening to every word I say

Try out the AK for a bit. I've been sticking with it for a while and it is pretty solid

They should add an attachment to the shield where you hit LT and it plants the shield and gives you a little pew pew laser to fire in a 65 degree view in front of you. Like 1.5sec to plant and draw gun. Wont be good for assaults but when backed into the corner kitty has claws (and laser pew pew beams)
I'm a big fan of the third and fifth SMGs (ASM-1 and SAC3). The ASM-1 seems like a good all around weapon because of its high damage and the SAC3 is perfect for running and gunning (more so than any of the shotguns).

I think I've settled on my natural style of play. I hit fast, then run the hell away in a safe direction regardless of whether or not I killed my target.

@DouglasDanger man waiting for this match you're in to end is agonizing
Oh wait. It ended. The overlay was just showing it continuing forever.
The first and second SMGs have become my weapons of choice. I use the first in the bigger maps that have more long range encounters, and the second SMG in the tighter maps and I rely on hip fire mostly.
I unlocked a bunch of guns. I am big fan of the unique version of the first shotgun. It is the golden uppercut. Or something. It rules
I got one but I was not doing anything good with it so I stopped using it.
Might try it again.
Finally unlocked a new sight for the starting MG, which is good. The basic one is so awful, you can't actually see any enemies. But I'm not sure it will be a good weapon in the long run anyway.
Made a class with the first and third SMGs based on you guys talking about them and they are a pretty good combination.

I've had a good deal of success in Domination, it helps when you have team mates shooting people while they're distracted with you, but I'm getting a fair number of kills and caps myself.

You keep any emblem pieces and card background that you've earned, but any progress towards unearned stuff is lost. Also, any emblems you've created are lost (this is a bug and they are aware of it.)
You keep any permanent weapons you've received from supply drops, but you'll have to gain the appropriate level to use them again. Customizations are carried over and available immediately.
You get one permanent weapon or perk unlock per prestige.
You are given a complete set of armor that's all black and looks like something out of Splinter Cell.
There's also a known bug that stops your score from being counted after prestige, so your place on the leader boards becomes static.
I've already prestiged twice in less than 20 hours play time, thanks to the double XP. I guess I won't work on any actual challenges until after they stop making it easy to level up.
It's just as 'cinematic' and 'immersive' to fail the final QTE and immediately replay the last bit of cutscene.
Pushing buttons doesn't make a cutscene come to life, heighten climactic engagements or deliver emotion, devs. Either it's part of the game play or its part of a cutscene. There's no need for occasional QTEs, so build them into all cutscenes or leave them off entirely.

This goes for all games.
I think they're chasing the MW 1 and 2 final QTE's, which were both incredible

playing what I assume is the climactic ending
Chasing someone
"HOLD 'UNBOUND' TO SLIDE"
Door closes
mission failed

this one didn't give me nearly the same feeling
This gun is ugly as all hell, holy shit.

But it's really fun to shoot straight down and win a fight. I'm really liking the semi-auto pulse weapon too.
But all that extra damage!
The good elite weapons I've received have good camos, too.
No, this is a realistic game, not your MGS.

My new AW emblem:
I had something like that in the past, but with a suit. Unfortunately, there's no suit in this one and I don't really feel like trying to make one.
And, Trippy, that first one is horrifying.
