For whoever it was asking about why there's no healing or health potions, that design decision is general an encounter balance one to stop the problem of almost all old RPGs where you could spend all your cash on health potions and just mainline to beat fights.

Especially true in DA1 where you could sell Lythium pots for a lot more than they cost to make, so make HUGE bank selling pots, then buy all the best gear and 9999999 healing pots for all GG WP NO RE.

(although honestly this was fairly irrelevant, as in DA1 you could also make a tank who could only ever be hit by the aoe sweeps on bosses, so swings and roundabouts)

it does feel a lot clunker than mass effect 3 though, particularly if youre a mage - you cant move while shooting and this means you get locked up in long animations. there are also really stupid little glitches like the steps you take while casting spells/interrupting your autoattacks with spells can cancel the "standing in one spot" meditation bonus.

also whenever you drink a pot you can hear it being thrown away afterwards lol

We must play really differently, I've had a few TPKs playing on normal. I'm not a fan of pausing and telling my people what to do, so that's probably part of it?

I actively avoid any kind of gaming the game, it's a lot more like playing in a choose your own adventure book for me...if that makes any sense? My brain isn't fully functioning today, being sick does have it's drawbacks (like, I'm probably going to have to knock the difficulty down to "you suck" when my fever breaks and I'm able to play in a bit)

properly means not abusing the pathing, projectile dodging and ai
