it's all stuff you have seen in high school calc so if anything it's yet more of the same, more encouraging of a self-identity as The Smart Kid Who Don't Need No Studying. it's when you get slapped in the face with stating and proving definitions and theorems that the old approach to studying maths falls apart

Not everybody takes Calc in high school, though. Sometimes it's because you started Algebra I as a freshman and ended in Precalc as a Senior (which was the case for both my sisters and most of my friends,) or because you decided you didn't want to take Calc, and either went mathless as a senior or took Stats instead like me.

So this may be the first time Walky's seen the material.

in that case it'd be pretty difficult to convince yourself you can coast, it's gotta be similar enough that you think you know the material

I think you could probably fit more than ten smaller birds in giraffe's neck, but don't try it!

Do you know why giraffes are slow to apologize?
It takes them a long time to swallow their pride

Sounds like another real life conversation used as content for the comic.

I've been forgetting to mention this but the author's insert character was wearing an outfit from fallout 3 or maybe new vegas. Its one of the Merc outfits.

Do you know why giraffes don't eat very much?

I was in the honors program when I first got into college, so our first math class there was Honors-level Calc Something. God, that was a disaster. The teacher was pretty terrible, and I think the average grades for a roomful of supposedly the smartest kids were about 45. I guess it was efficient at breaking everyone's morale right off, at least.

    It's seven for most mammals.

Funny enough, sloths vary from this count!
Even funnier, two toed and three toed sloths actually vary in cervical vertebrae counts from each other (twos have six and threes have nine), because they're incredibly distantly related!

“I have long suspected the Belligerent Knight’s single minded devotion to Jagganoth as a natural outgrowth of the core tenets of their order. When a core tenet of your knightly creed includes ‘If it has a pulse – remove its skull!’, what can you do about a thirty foot invincible monstrosity impervious to physical harm and with complete mastery over space-time?
    Worship it, of course!”
