go and listen to the rubbishash callius, this thread is for real music
so how about those nine inch nails where do i start listening i've never listened before
Start with the first track, 'Head Like a Hole', on their first Album, 'Pretty Hate Machine'. Then just listen to the rest of that Album.
If you liked that check outthese albums (in order of release) :
Broken (I'm not that big a fan of this one)
The Downward Spiral (Pretty decent album; has some good songs like 'March of the Pigs' and 'Hurt')
The Fragile (Mostly Instrumental; I really love this album but some people don't like it as much as me)
With Teeth (Probably one of their worst albums; its built around 'The Hand That Feeds' single which is pretty catchy, but it gets fucking annoying)
Year Zero (Newest album; has a strong end of the world/dystopia theme; I love a few of the songs, the rest are okay)
year zero is, i believe the year that los angeles was bombed with a dirty bomb
at the oscars i think
los angeles abandoned
a chemical is put into the water to protect against bio warfare
said chem causes hallucinations where people see the hand of god coming down from the sky
you are a cockmonger
said image appears in many places throughout the theme of this ARG
there is a lot to digest in the ARG
but this basically a concept album
a new type of concept album marketting, game, theme thing

And I seriously doubt the soldiers (see onecountryatatime) were on Parepin, it seems like something you'd never give to a fighting force. Blue pills, sure. But the other stuff? NFW.
Personally, I think it's a meterological/paranormal phonomenon. Which will result in the destruction of everyone very soon.
(yes I realize there's photoshop and all, but I still doubt it's truly a hallucination.)
The hallucination theory does have a lot of holes in it.
A lot of the citizens talking in the Another Version of the Truth forums saw The Presence even if they weren't on Opal or drinking the water contaminated with Parepin. Paranormal phenomenon seems more likely.
Speaking of the ARG..If anyone besides me has been following since the beginning...Have any of you gone to the http://www.freerebelart.net/ and put in your phone number?? Its fucking a trip...
The Presence is quite important in terms of story or what have you, as evidenced in the comic and so forth. But the one thing that creeped me out was going ahead and putting a certain noise I think was either from the trailer or from one of the leaked songs into a spectrometer, which many had told me was quite scary. Having never heard of the ARG, I went ahead and did so and saw this:
It was creepy as fuck and...well, here we are. I'm actually enjoying the album, though I'm a bit miffed that it took an ARG to get me interested.
Rome, they’re right. Something is coming. I don’t have to convince you, though.
You’ll find out the fucking hard way soon enough.
I’m clean, I’m smart, I’m off Parepin. I don’t use or abuse, I don’t believe in ghosts
or God or aliens. But I saw it. Two days ago, I was getting off shift. It came down
maybe three blocks away. When it was over I had pissed myself and I was
crying like a four years old.
I went through this thing like I was the whole planet and I was us raping the planet
at the same time. Paving over every field and dumping crap in every river.
I worked with this woman and when it was over she was saying it was an angel. I
sure as hell hope not. Whatever it is, it is *coming*. Now. And it is *pissed.*
Same here, Sunset. The first time was a few days ago. I thought it was the
Parepin so I cut it cold turkey, moved
had some canvasses I needed to work on in quiet. Then yesterday it happened
again.
We are all so fucked. I’m walking around with a flask of mar
that when it happe
hood of my car.
So my friend picked this up, had no idea the disc was heat-sensitive. Pops it out of his player while fairly drunk and freaks out, since it looked to him like a different disc than the one he put in. Goes to show this to a friend of his and by that point the disc was back to normal again. He thought he was going nuts.
As for the album itself, didn't really sound like my thing but I didn't get a chance to give it a good listen.

And Callius, man, The Presence does exist. I totally saw it the other day.
I have been off Opal for like, hours now too. I swear.
there are bunches of lots of people naked online

Hmm, I'm going to download this because I got all lazy with the ARG due to my short attention span.

Callius, aren't you making like a porn site or something?
Where have you been?
3DS: 5241-1953-7031
not listening to the radio thankfully.
I actually haven't heard it on the radio yet.
Then again, the album isn't exactly radio friendly.
But you're a jerk.
nin and chicago are like bff
i'm not a jerk
Hmm . . .
Seriously NIN... it's a fucking hand. That's not scary or creepy. It's a hand.
I have to say that I kinda jumped when I saw it in the teaser video.
they play it several times a day on 99X ( along with Linking Park )

I haven't had the misfortune of hearing the new Linkin Park at least.
They were about to play it on Z92 but I got to my destination before they started playing it.
Why they gotta be so literal?

Hicks thought drugs were the key to evolution and high powers and he was quite popular in the reznor/mjk group
so i wouldn't be surprised if that were it

But seriously, the hand is gay.
I'm curious now actually.
I am Trying to Believe does suggest that sightings have increased since Parepin was added to the water though.
Eh, I think its pretty cool. You should try this out if you haven't yet (assuming you aren't at work or anything):
It was creepy as fuck and...well, here we are. I'm actually enjoying the album, though I'm a bit miffed that it took an ARG to get me interested.
These guys bring up evidence about the sightings not being drug induced:
Then again . . .
