I never realized just how limited the Yoda puppet's facial expressions were. In that last shot, that look just says, "Oh God it's going to be this shit forever now, isn't it?"
I mean, I know I shouldn't really be surprised - it's a technical marvel for its time, but that time was still 35 years ago and part of me always knew they had to sell it in the acting and not the effects. But damn if it isn't perfect for videos like this.

I would not be too surprised that toy and commercial companies are throwing lightsabers in any good guys hands because money money money. And i would also not be surprised if Lucasfilm didn't care.
So I guess I'm excited for that but I honestly wouldn't have expected it happens in the film and I'd assume most folks wouldn't.
The second you saw her as a trained melee fighter you knew she was gonna pick up a saber at some point.
My guess was she's a Solo and will prefer a blaster. You even see her using one, and being handed one by Han, in the trailer. The only people we see using sabers in the trailers is Finn and Kylo.
She carries a saber in NONE of the promotional material for the film. Even if you suspected she would use one, it's still a big fat spoiler.

My long term guess has been; when she becomes a Jedi and makes her own saber it's a dual bladed one.

Basically, avoid the toy section at the store until you've seen the movie, I guess.
Yeah, that particular spoiler has been pretty hard to avoid.
I was hoping Rey would be a potential jedi so I'm pretty happy about it.
Still though, seems like they wanted it to be a big twist with the way they've been promoting things with Finn getting the star treatment in all the promo material with the lightsaber.
(who I'm guessing is not actually force sensitive)
The SE++ thread posted it, saying it was a little more revealing, so I'm skipping it. I guess that means I'm done with new stuff until next Friday for real this time!

No spoilers. Just some different action shots. Which were awesome.
I'm still amazed at how much more weight everything has in this than the prequels did, even the stuff that's obviously CGI. It really feels like it's following up the original films.
I know someone has come out and said those aren't Ewoks they are slaughtering at the beginning of the film. But those sure do sound like Ewoks they are slaughtering (you can even see a stormtrooper in the back pulling a small possibly fuzzy thing out of the hut
Was super bummed out that our kids nativity was going to clash with the only time I could see the movie with the wife but without the kids til January.
Then school rescheduled the nativity.
Fucking ace. Tickets booked for Thursday morning!

Would make sense if that is when they found Vader's charred helmet.
BB8 is R2D2 upgraded to a new droid body or something? Also, what if they pull a Star Trek Generations and destroy the Falcon? I thought for sure that the Han and potentially more OT characters (Luke/Leia/Chewie) would be killed off and the Falcon would be passed on to the new characters, now I'm not so sure.

I'm pretty sure there have been shots of BB8, Artoo and Threepio together from the movie.
Man, wouldn't be awesome if Chopper showed up in a cameo?

You know what one of the best parts of having JJ Abrams making a Star Wars movie is? He's really really good at also producing behind the scenes stuff. A little John Williams sneak peak, don't worry, no spoilerth:
I just realized I hadn't heard anything about the soundtrack, so I had to look up the release date. It's the same day as the movie.
On one hand, this means probably not having to worry about MAJOR SPOILERS in the track list (like Phantom Menace). On the other, it means I don't have a majorly awesome track to pump me up for the movie, like Battle of Heroes.

You cheeky motherfuckers.
Yes, that is a Death Star helmet crest.
A foolish samurai warrior wielding a magic sword, stepped for to oppose me...
Bandai has been doing a series - Movie Realization - where they mix Star Wars with jidai geki. There's been a few figures so far:
Vader as samurai,
Stormtrooper as ashigaru (peasant infantry),
Imperial Guard as warrior monk,
Boba Fett as ronin.
Man, wouldn't be awesome if Chopper showed up in a cameo?

I have a long drive, I can listen to more than one iconic piece of music.
