It's bonkers that the game is $20 in the US, but the price for the game from the official Atlus page is still $40. I'll need to check the Nintendo e-shop from the 3ds when I get home, but if it's still over $30, I may as well buy it from Amazon and have it shipped to my friend in Michigan who visits every month.
Collector's Edition revealed for both versions - art book, 5 CD soundtrack featuring tracks from all 5 Persona games, in-game stuff (Orpheus and Izanagi Persona skins, music from previous games, P3 and P4 school uniform outfits)
Two new characters revealed, Igor gets a new voice.
I have no idea how FFXV is going to fare being released just two weeks after this...
the navigator might join the party proper eventually, like mitsuru or teddy. Also, when they were showing off dlc costumes a second ago there was one more guy with his face covered
I don't think FFXV has to worry too much about persona sales wise, FF is still much more of a household name
I feel like japan as a nation doesn't necessarily want to be equivocated with creeper otaku stuff, even if that is the reality of most japanese games/anime/manga
I didn't like the old outifts that were changed in Whatever-it's-called-this-week, anyway. But I heard that some characters changed profession, which is weirder.

That is generally the case. The big thing is that mainstream Japan isn't really consuming entertainment, so most entertainment is focused on specialty markets, including the creeper otaku crowd.
Anyhoo, September, huh? Wonder what that means for a western release. I'm guessing early 2017?
Early 2017 would be upsetting, given we were assured a 2015 release multiple times last year and if it doesn't come out relatively quickly after the Japanese release there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
I would guess December at the latest, to put it out before Christmas.

Looks like you're in Canada, so I'm not sure if you can ship from Amazon, but it's $19.99 there

I don't think Sony has any say on how the game is localized?
But regardless, this article came out in July 2015 and makes it explicit they are keeping traditional Japanese influences in the game.
there's the last guy, in the top right
Joker
Skull
Queen
Panther
Inari (?)
Noir
Pretty sure Atlus US is handling the localization like the past games, so I wouldn't worry about that.

They're also handling Tokyo Mirage Sessions, and well... yeah. There's my concern.
