I want the action-rpg to die though. Seriously, either stats resolve combat completely (diablo counts as stat resolved) or you have player skill based combat like DA:I or TES and you'd be better off with good player skill based combat. I want to play DA:I or Witcher 3 with mordor quality combat.
*hisssssss*
You guys would rather play the kludgy combat of Skyrim, for example, then have it be awesome like mordor but with the same scope and world size as Skyrim?
Ehh, I like Mordor, but the combat system is basically combat-on-rails. Assuming there are no archers around, you can take on essentially unlimited numbers of mooks (I started playing last night and survived a 50+-orc pile on). Skyrim's was definitely less polished and could have used some work, but it feels better than "oh this orc is in an attack sequence rightclick and I will magically turn around and knock him to the ground"
It definitely hit what it was going for - a LOTR-movie-like combat sequence, it looks beautiful, but even just the Skyrim attack/block/bash mechanics are more interesting - you're only protected from the front; you're vulnerable to strong attacks; you're vulnerable when attacking/casting; no slow-time/quickdraw bow (normally), arrows drop in flight
Nothing is less interesting than Skyrim's melee combat.

Well I think the theory that this is the year the giant blockbuster movie dies is...well dead.
what was that theory based on? I don't follow the movie industry at all but even I keep hearing about how much money the big superhero movies have been making the last few years.
Basically that the massive blockbuster is a bubble. One that's pretty much been running since the early 80's. Basically it's something that gets said every year and generally gets proven wrong. But the opening for Jurassic World has been pretty insane. F&F 7 opened big. The Avengers did massive business. The Star Wars film is ahead of us.
And Chris Pratt basically has cemented his movie career for a few years at least.

This year they showed a new ghostly boss. Five more years and they'll have enough bosses to make a full game!
So, probably when I wake up there will be news
