Question: is the multipost rule a clever ruse to kill the webcomics thread / crwth

Marty: The future, it's where you're going?
Doc: That's right, twenty five years into the future. I've always dreamed on seeing the future, looking beyond my years, seeing the progress of mankind. I'll also be able to see who wins the next twenty-five world series.

This is a couple pages late but I really like when people call me Whippy irl. It's the only nickname I've ever had in my life and it's very special to me. I've gone by two other names before and only one of them you get to call me without getting slapped. But "Whippy" is special. It's me.

    Tube/mods,

I've been wondering for a while about how the mod staff feels about the "cliquiness" that can crop up amongst long time posters.

I'm not really talking about per thread cliques, but friendships between groups of people who've internet known each other for a long time. I know that for me I really like and get along with a lot of people here and it leads to in jokes or familiarity that might be offputting to new users. When I first started posting I know seeing people referred to by something other than their user name was confusing and made me feel like I was missing out.

Do you see that kind of thing as an issue or discouraging to new users, or is anything that makes a closer community cool?

How much reading of non-reported threads goes on? For example, over in Critical Failures, do you guys read the countless Play By Post, Phalla and boardgame play threads?

...Has anyone reported a post from Critical Failures because someone cheated in a game?

Yes. and the CF users could be performing human sacrifice in there for all I know. (Echo watches over them)

And to be honest, when I look at the various Phalla threads I mostly go "what is this I don't even" and slowly back away. They move at a brisk pace and any raging going on could very well be a part of the game for all that I know. So I rely a lot on user reports if there's anything that needs the delicate touch of a sledgehammer.

So either there's very little trouble with Phalla threads, or there are international assassinations being plotted and nobody reports them.

But really, I only remember a single-digit number of reports from Phalla threads, and nothing that required more of me than frowning hard in someone's general direction.

CF by nature isn't much of a discussion or chat forum, nearly everything there is highly topical and people go elsewhere for chat/discussion. As far as I'm concerned, CF runs itself just fine 99.8% of the time.

I know it's a question for Tube and I don't want to speak out of turn - but I'm aware of a handful of "internet famous" people that post here and two or three "normally famous" people that do.

That said, I have zero idea what their user names are or what threads/subforums they hang out in.
